Another Emmaus prospect, Mercado has good size at 6-foot-2 and 290-pounds and was a standout on both sides of the ball for the Hornets. Defensively he had 37 tackles for a loss, 12 tackles for a loss and two sacks. Offensively, he posted 36 pancake blocks while not allowing a single sack. He also competes in weight lifting where he grabbed second place at the Powerlifting America High School National Championship earlier this month. His strength makes him especially intriguing, even if he doesn’t have the desired height, he’s an offensive linemen worth looking at add to potentially add to your program.

What an incredible presence Ben Mercado Ben Mercado 6'2" | 290 lbs | OL Emmaus | 2024 State PA is when stationed in the trenches each and every week. Quality IDL tape, yet I love his projection to the offensive side of the football. Tone-setter, angry linemen whose tape has to be one of the more amusing tapes to turn on. Again, much like Donahue, many have placed above Mercado strictly because of how they fit the FBS mold of 6’6, 300-pound monsters. Yet this guard out of Emmaus displays some of the best overall tape that I’ve plugged in. Throw offers, measurables, and hype out of the window and you’d have no problem going to war with this young man leading the way in the interior. Mercado will inevitably be the prospect that many top programs overlook. He’ll be the prospect that looks to be a steal for whoever courts him in the coming months.
