Continue ReadingThe questions are obvious ones when breaking down Fynn Mcdonald Fynn Mcdonald 6’8″ | 325 lbs | OL Allentown Central Catholic | 2024 State PA ‘s game. He’s 6’8, 325 pounds. Two things that will immediately jump through a scout’s mind. First, come to our camp, second, how well does this frame move on the field? 6’8, 325+ isn’t the easiest frame to move around on the turf. There’s no use in recruiting a prospect this big if he is as stiff as a board. McDonald isn’t a tree out there whatsoever, he can be opened up for sure, but hardly a stiff prospect.
All of this amounts to a more than intriguing prospect. Right tackle reps on tape, pass-pro, and rush blocking. His reach is so long, it’s damn near impossible for edge rushers to get their hands in to steer someone like McDonald, especially at this level. Even if his technique is off, or footing, off the snap of the ball, his ridiculous wing span helps him recover. One punch from this kid, even off-balanced, is enough to derail the opposing pass rush. He has a ways to go to complete his repertoire, which makes for an exciting prospect to watch moving forward. I’m sending his name to every Power Five school I have connections with.

I’ve got a gut feeling that Jack Dendall Jack Dendall 6’4″ | 270 lbs | OL Wilson (West Lawn) | 2024 State PA is going to break out this off-season. 6’4, 275, Dendall is just hitting many of the height/weight thresholds that top programs put in place. Frame looks good, it allows him to move well laterally as well as sprint downfield with ease. I got the chance to see the Wilson left tackle live against Harrisburg, his film tells the whole story. Awesome motor, great blocking down the LOS. Can work into the second level well, seen sprinting to his spots well before defenders can diagnose. Has winning reps against Jameial Lyons Jameial Lyons 6’4″ | 245 lbs | DL Roman Catholic | 2023 State PA and Dayvid Palepale, can’t ask for better competition than that. Has two-way experience as well. Top programs will probably expect Dendall to lean in one direction, stay lean and work the edge, either at tackle or at DE. Or see how his height changes and either kick him inside if he stays at 6’4. Possibilities are still stacked through the roof with this kid.

We’ve shed some light on lesser-known names like McDonald and Dendall, now it’s time to get back on track with a name that has been on FBS radars for about a year now. Towson, Old Dominion, and Marshall have extended offers to Michael McMonigle Michael McMonigle 6’7″ | 290 lbs | OL William Penn (York) | 2024 State PA in recent months, the G5 offers date back to the summer. Recruiters will now have junior tape to break down the 6’6, 280-pound right tackle. My live sessions with McMonigle have allowed me to see him at a National Preps camp, as well as the first and Final outings of his junior season. McMonigle’s tape checks out. Unlocking his full range of motion will be vital, G5 and P5 programs will key in on how well he can move at his size.

We’ve gone too long without mentioning another Malvern Prep offensive lineman. The second Friar inside the top 20 is Logan Demchyk Logan Demchyk 6’3″ | 285 lbs | OL Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA , a 300+ pound interior lineman that might land as a top three prospect if we ranked IOL separately. Maryland and Boston College have pulled the trigger on Demchyk, a young man that is part of an elite crew of blockers that all know their role. Demchyk does a ton of the dirty work inside, as most run-blocking guards do. I can make the case that Demchyk is the best pass-blocking guard that I have ranked thus far. That’s high praise, a statement that might have Demchyk shoot back up this board.

Another elite guard in this class. Lakeem Steele Lakeem Steele 6’2″ | 300 lbs | OL St. Joseph’s Prep | 2024 State PA , who is unoffered to my knowledge, is the pivotal cog in the SJP running attack. Steele can play either guard position, which means he needs to be on top of his assignments beyond the responsibilities of a normal offensive linemen starter. Steele isn’t going to overwhelm with size, he knows that. He’s going to win by being in the right place at the right time. SJP has this kid on the move, his hat placement and timing are crucial in each rep. Disciplined and strong, Lakeem Steele Lakeem Steele 6’2″ | 300 lbs | OL St. Joseph’s Prep | 2024 State PA should be a priority for Group of Five programs looking to solidify their interiors with a well-seasoned junior prospect.
You usually don’t see guards this massive. 6’6, 320, interior lineman who is the active puller in this offense. You can’t find a bigger Sean Dugery Sean Dugery 6’4″ | 295 lbs | OL The Haverford | 2023 State PA and Matt Pante Matt Pante 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL The Haverford School | 2023 State PA fan than me, you can understand my confusion when I see this kid tower over those two senior monsters every time I attend a Haverford School game. This kid is nowhere close to hitting his ceiling. I wouldn’t call him raw, as his tape still earned a D1 grade out of me. Haverford will often leave ends unblocked for Andrewson to clean up in the open field. He does so with ease at times. I wonder what position best suits Andrewson’s game. I imagine every collegiate suitor will like this kid at tackle. Interested in seeing where he plays next Fall with Pante and Dugery moving on to the next level,

Sean Kinney Sean Kinney 6’3″ | 290 lbs | OL Nazareth | 2024 State PA isn’t 6’6. Sean Kinney Sean Kinney 6’3″ | 290 lbs | OL Nazareth | 2024 State PA isn’t 320+ pounds. Yet here he is amongst those massive linemen. Crazy to think that some might deem this young man “too small’ to play tackle at the next level. D3s and D2s, even some FCS programs are more than happy to take Kinney for what he’s worth. The premier programs might desire something more from a build perspective, even though his tape, technique, and work ethic stack up with the best linemen on the rankings. Kinney rubs off as the type of prospect that will be happy with any collegiate program courting him, yet his junior tape and production haven’t gone unnoticed. All of this being said, Kinney could be kicked inside to the guard position, a position I think he’d excel in. Interested in seeing how accurate we are with our assessment of the Nazareth standout linemen. His positional rank might have dropped, yet his overall rank is still inside the top 75.
