We witnessed his grind for Division One status, a status that many didn’t think he could achieve. He proved doubters wrong. Holy Cross is getting a lefty quarterback that can stand in the pocket, read half the field, and make timely decisions downfield after reading his key defenders. The beginning of his tape shows how well he can locate downfield. Jenkins will benefit greatly early on at Holy Cross, mostly in terms of improving his footwork, as well as cleaning up some mechanical issues. Holy Cross is banking on this kid’s upside, which is understandable. He’s grown into the position, proving his coachability. Excited for his future.
Every year, East Stroudsburg University ends up with a top 100 prospect somehow. This year, East Stroudsburg has secured the talents of Harrison Susi Harrison Susi 5’11” | 190 lbs | QB Coatesville | 2023 State PA , the prolific Coatesville passer. Susi is yet another elite quarterbacking prospect that checks every box except the measurable one. Colin O’Sullivan Colin O’Sullivan 6’0″ | 180 lbs | QB Upper Dublin | 2023 State PA , Sam Stoner Sam Stoner 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB William Penn (York) | 2023 State PA , Jeff Hoenstine Jeff Hoenstine 5’10” | 175 lbs | QB Central | 2023 State PA , and ESU’s Harrison Susi Harrison Susi 5’11” | 190 lbs | QB Coatesville | 2023 State PA all fall in the recruiting world because of their stature. That being said, Susi will provide real dual-threat capabilities along with a gun-slinger mentality that will force opposing defenses to gameplan for Susi’s complete skill set. I always regret not visiting Coatesville to see him ball live.
If there is ever a prospect that every local P5 should PWO, it’s Jeff Hoenstine Jeff Hoenstine 5’10” | 175 lbs | QB Central | 2023 State PA . There’s no use in finding all of the ridiculous stats the young man has accumulated over his illustrious career at Central. The record-shattering quarterback is just 5’10, again, keeping with the theme of many inside the top ten quarterback ranks. I imagine a scenario where an FBS program gives this kid a shot, scholarship or not. He would rank high on my list of kids to take a chance on, based on his production and intangibles alone. I expect Hoenstine to test the highest bidders’ waters, as he should. Even if the FBS isn’t in this kid’s future, he would absolutely be a player in the PSAC, early on too. Intrigued about his future.
Still no senior tape out of Ethan Neidig, yet piecing together some of his singles, you can see how he’s grown into the quarterback role exactly how many thought he would. Neidig is building FCS interest, yet I’m interested in seeing what position these FCS schools will recruit him. Will schools like him at DB, is wideout a possibility? Neidig has come a long way under center though, he is far from a project at quarterback in my opinion. Whether or not he can play the position at a Division One level is another question. The kid is too talented to not take a chance on in some fashion.
Highlights
Keyshawn Morsillo Keyshawn Morsillo 6’3″ | 190 lbs | QB Westinghouse | 2023 State PA had a year to remember. The Westinghouse senior quarterback had a career to remember if we’re being honest. One score shy of 60 total touchdowns on the year. Over 3,000 yards accumulated. When we speak on Morsillo, it’s usually in under-recruited talks. Thankfully, programs have taken a chance on him in recent weeks, those being Lock Haven, Westminster, and Waynesburg to name a few. The senior bulldog did all he could against a perennial powerhouse in the state final, a valiant performance put on by a kid on the biggest stage of his career. His State Final performance could have been better, yet I am pleased with his top-ten ranking nonetheless.
