Continue ReadingI don’t remember this kid being this big last year. Either I’ve been unaware of his growth or Ziggy McIntosh Ziggy McIntosh 6’3″ | 210 lbs | ATH Our Lady Sacred Heart | 2023 State PA was been eating weights this past offseason. Speaking of eating, there are plenty of mouths to feed on this OLSH attack. McIntosh got his this Fall nonetheless. McIntosh reeled in 36 catches for six scores. Plugging in his wideout tape, it’s startling how easy he makes things look. The kid is somewhat stiff in the openfield, yet his stride can out-angle secondary defenders that attempt to bring him down. A productive chain-mover, he often catches balls near the goal-line or first down marker and fights for extra yards. Kids bounce off of him. If you want size and strength from your wideouts, make this kid a priority. Quality safety reps under his belt. I’d be intrigued by a potential move to LB at the next level.
Got the chance to see DaQuan McCraw DaQuan McCraw 6’2″ | 190 lbs | WR Steelton Highspire | 2023 State PA live last weekend. He looks as filled out and as ever and is playing with a head full of confidence right now. As he should, the senior wideout impresses all over the field. His size sticks out, his frame sticks out. His pass catching skills extend away from his body. I don’t think folks understand the speed he brings to the table. It shows when he attacks vertically, it shows when he’s involved in sweeps behind the LOS. I think of many different traits before speed, not sure that I should however. I really like how he moves in space. He’s got a bit of attitude to his RAC game as well. FCS player here in the right setting.
James Bermudez James Bermudez 5’10” | 195 lbs | RB Northeast | 2023 State PA z has vision for the endzone. I can find many backs who boast good vision to get through the gap, or hit lanes outside the tackles. Bermudez has legitimate vision that sets him up to score. Seasoned gait, his stride opens up at the right time. You can see how natural of a back he is through subtle movements before he hits a hole. Can get slippery. Sweet one-cut jump. Has a balanced frame that isn’t afraid to lower itself for extra yardage. I can see a future where a mature James Bermudez James Bermudez 5’10” | 195 lbs | RB Northeast | 2023 State PA tears through PSAC defenses for fun. I can’t help thinking there might be a higher ceiling for the young man if he is given the opportunity. Works well in shotgun sets, off-tackle runs. Tape displaying his pass-catching abilities would do wonders. Fun player to watch.

Watching Colin Schumm Colin Schumm 6’4″ | 215 lbs | QB William Penn Charter | 2023 State PA ‘s mid-season tape, much more of the same. I might be higher than most on this kid, not sure what’s not to like. Schumm, at QB, can make throws on the run and on the go. I’d consider him a capable threat to beat defenses with his legs, he can move the chains if you let him. Downfield vision is there, he’s willing to test a defense deep. As a scout, I’m interested to learn what coaches think this kid lacks. Schumm currently holds one offer from Lock Haven, who might actually be inclined to move his primary position to safety. Schumm is a legitimate safety prospect that flashes some athleticism. Not sure if his 6’4 frame takes him out of the running for future DB spots. Nonetheless, there’s potential to be unlocked here.
Big 91 needs a boost in rank, he could be due for an extra boost in recruitment as well. 6’5, 220 pounds. Awesome to see Klick align in so many different ways. You can find him serve as an edge rusher for Daniel Boone, where he is often too much of an athletic threat for many tackles to handle. He can win with instincts, speed off the ball. He can utilize his giant frame well in all alignments, it shows up when rushing the passer. Many opposing tackles can’t get any leverage against him. You might see Klick align in tight and run routes or block from this spot. You can split him out at wideout as well. One of the more versatile two-way seniors that shouldn’t be able to move this fluently.
Giant pulling right tackle who boasts a mean initial punch off the ball. Everley is going to have the advantage over the majoritu of matchups when it comes to leverage, standing at 6’7, best of luck to the edge rushers that are trying to manipulate this kid. Everley looks good in pass protection sets. He is athletic and lean enough to counter some speed around the edge, interested in how he’d hold up against elite speed rushers. Everley lands on the athletic end of the tackle spectrum. He has some second-level blocks on tape to show off his ability to key assignments on the go. I’m relatively surprised FCS schools haven’t reached out, at least to my knowledge. Coaches at that level usually fall in love with this size.

I’ve touted this kid as one of the true two-way prospects in the state. There are plenty of prospects that play both ways of course, not many that I could see secure a college football roster spot at two different positions. I feel Jaydin Canady Jaydin Canady 5’10” | 180 lbs | ATH Greensburg Central Catholic | 2023 State PA can achieve this. Based on Canady’s DB tape alone, he’d place high on our ranks. Based on his offensive reps, he’d rank as a top 300 senior. Combine these skillsets and you have one of the more versatile football players in the state. Canady’s senior tape is 16 minutes of versatility. Have him align at all five DB spots. Have him return kicks. Have him align anywhere on offense. Excited to see his future unfold.
A crucial cog in the Aliquippa machine. Aliquippa’s one of the more loaded rosters in all of Pennsylvania, so it makes sense if certain prospects get over-shadowed by others. I think that might be the case with Jason McBride. Equally as dominant inside the trenches as some of his counterparts. Equally as aggressive a finisher too. McBride alone can change the momentum of a game by almost single-handedly clogging lanes and stopping the run. He’s got the size and hand usage you like to see from interior prospects. McBride might have D1 potential.
To my knowledge, 6’2 linebacker Anthony Spurio Anthony Spurio 6’2″ | 225 lbs | LB Archbishop Carroll | 2023 State PA has just one offer from Seton Hill. More offers should be headed this kids way. Timely and effective blitzer off the edge and through the A-B gaps. Good pursuit of the football once he enters the backfield. Some reps show he can seek out the football and meet ball carriers before they hit running lanes off tackle. Provides some pass-catching reps as well as some reps with the ball in his hand at the LOS. I think he’s got the lateral functionality to move to OLB if need be at the next level. He eats at MLB at this level. This kid is a hidden gem for a program in need of a tone-setting, big linebacker.
Here’s a prospect that’s due for a rankings boost. He will see that come December 1st. It’s fun trying to project where Gavin Papp Gavin Papp 6’0″ | 180 lbs | DB Council Rock North | 2023 State PA will play at the next level. His tape will show one rep at Safety and you’ll strap in ready for 5 minutes of quality DB reps. Next play he’s making kids miss in the openfield and hitting homeruns at running back. His tape goes back and forth, displaying equally proficient reps at both positions. The play recognition and ball skills he shows at DB are a bit harder to come by, so I imagine colleges will court him to play Safety, a spot I think he’ll thrive in. Nonetheless, Papp will please his future coaches in one way or another.
