October is here and we have begun updating all of our prospect rankings throughout the website. Last week, we released our first watch list for the 2026 class. The first rankings for that class will come out in January. This week, it’s all about the 2025 class. We’ve updated those rankings to feature the top 75 sophomores in the state. You can check out the full rankings RIGHT HERE. In this post, we’re taking a look at some of the newcomers in this recent update. With us updating from a Top 50 to Top 75, we were going to have quite a few new names. But these prospects were not only newcomers, but they debut with relatively high rankings. Stay tuned throughout the week for more 2025 prospect breakdowns. And keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the month for the 2024 and 2023 prospect rankings.
Anytime we have a ranking update, there are prospects that we immediately regret not getting them in and Tuttle standout Brady Mcadoo Brady Mcadoo 6’0″ | 180 lbs | RB Tuttle | 2025 State OK is a perfect example of one for the 2025 class. After seeing what he did as a freshman last year on a team full of seniors and juniors, it seemed like McAdoo was primed for a breakout season this fall. And that’s exactly how this fall has played out so far. McAdoo has had an impact as a running back, wide receiver, defensive back and also is a dynamic kick returner. The versatility that McAdoo plays with is off the charts and he has been arguably Tuttle’s biggest impact player this season. It’s still early to figure out where McAdoo translates at the next level, even though we have him at running back for now. But right now, it looks like there’s no doubt that McAdoo will be playing college football somewhere.

The first of two standouts from Bishop McGuinness to jump into the recent ranking update on this breakdown is McGuinness sophomore Marcus James Marcus James 6’3″ | ATH Carl Albert | 2025 State OK . Whenever a prospect is listed as an athlete, he could be a skill player athlete or a bigger athlete along the line of scrimmage. That’s where James is at as he will more than likely be a defensive lineman at the next level, but there’s still room for him to blossom at a different position. But based on his production on the field, James has been at his best when he’s coming off the edge as a defensive lineman. Like several other prospects on this breakdown, James immediately passed the eye test when we saw him in person. The door is still open for him playing a different position but it looks like the natural fit will be defensive line.
There are plenty of reasons to be excited deep in the corner of southeastern Oklahoma as Idabel is not only a strong team this season but they have the young talent to be a contender for the next few years. While teammate Ravian Larry Ravian Larry 6’1″ | RB Idabel | 2025 State OK is the top overall prospect in the class, a newcomer to the recent ranking is overall athlete Matrail Lopez Matrail Lopez 6’0″ | 175 lbs | ATH Idabel | 2025 State OK . After taking a look at the film, it’s apparent that Lopez has the speed to be a gamechanger in Class 2A. Idabel doesn’t get too fancy with getting Lopez the ball. Whether it’s a simple bubble screen or taking a jet sweep, anytime Lopez gets the ball in the open field, he’s a threat to take it all the way. The skill players that the Warriors have are quite impressive and it seems like it’s a matter of when and not if Idabel becomes a state title contender.

The second standout from Bishop McGuinness on this list is defensive lineman Zach Tawwater Zach Tawwater 6’5″ | 230 lbs | DL Bishop McGuinness | 2025 State OK . When it comes to all of the newcomers in the recent ranking update, Tawwater is the highest ranked newcomer as he comes in at #16 overall and the top defensive lineman prospect. Like James, we definitely benefitted from seeing Tawwater in person just last week. And like James, he passed the eye test immediately and made several plays in their showdown with Carl Albert. But in addition to his on-field production, Tawwater has the confidence of his coaches and we’ve even heard from opposing coaches that Tawwater is going to be a prospect to watch moving forward. Tawwater already has the frame to be a disruptive lineman. As he gets bigger and stronger, that will only continue.
