Risers:
The top ranked 2024 QB in Northern California checks all the boxes as a high level major D1 prospect with his combination of size, arm talent, and football IQ. At 6’6” 210 lbs. he possesses elite level arm strength and accuracy to hit his spots at all three levels. Has the ability to mix up velocities to deliver a catchable ball, can layer the ball over second level defenders with touch or drive off his back foot to zip a one ball into a tight window. Has a quick over the top release with efficient and tight mechanics in the pocket, no wasted movement in his footwork or throwing motion. In his first season as a starter at powerhouse Folsom he’s thrown for 2,130 yards and 27 touchdowns with just two interceptions in eight games. Recruiting stock has been on a steady incline since his freshman year but really took off after a strong performance at the Sac State camp where he collected five offers. Currently holds 11 total.
Versatile skillset for the 6’3” 170 lb. QB out of Sierra Canyon. Equally effective with both his arm and legs he’s an explosive gamebreaker that is tough for DC’s to prepare for given his ability to improvise and create something out of nothing. He’s quick to get into his drop and possesses an accelerated release for added velocity and to get the ball out on time at the short/intermediate levels. Flashes excellent poise and mobility in the pocket with the ability to feel/escape pressure when protection breaks down. Does a good job keeping his eyes downfield for a target but can also tuck it and rip off big yardage as a ball carrier using his speed and elusiveness in the open field. Currently holds five D1 offers including one power 5 from Arizona but has the talent and ability to add more.
Highlights
NEWCOMERS:
Maushardt has shown impressive natural athleticism and arm talent since transferring from Servite to St. Paul. At 6’3” 215 lbs. he’s got good length and a strong build to his frame to be an effective pocket passer while also being able to make plays with his legs when he needs too. Very smooth and fluid with his footwork and throwing motion, he’s consistent and flashes a great ability to throw off different platforms without sacrificing arm strength or accuracy. Plus field vision, he stands tall in the pocket as he scans the field and proves he can be patient and tough allowing a play to develop while facing pressure and taking a hit to deliver on time. Still developing but has continued to improve and possesses good upside. San Jose State was the first to offer in March and has since collected additional offers from Arkansas State and Indiana.
Tough schedule for Cathedral Catholic and despite not having the season they hoped for thus far the transfer from Green Valley HS in Nevada has shown a strong skillset. Really good ability to throw on the run to either direction while being accurate from off balanced platforms and from different arm angles. Throwing on the run he does a good job getting his hips and shoulders turned to the target to maintain accuracy. Excellent pocket movement and instincts to avoid and manipulate pressure to create open throwing lanes downfield. As a ball carrier, he’s a plus athlete with deceptive speed and awareness in space. Has picked up three offers so far including two as a freshman from Florida State and North Texas then added Portland State in May.
Ingrassia has continued to impress since being named QB MVP of the Norcal Prep Redzone Showcase last spring. He’s a gifted natural passer with excellent pocket presence and mechanics. Smooth footwork in his drop landing with a well-balanced platform and good ball placement. For a first year starter he shows good instincts and anticipation to throw a receiver open and hit on timing routes at all three levels. Does a good job placing the ball to allow his receivers to run after the catch and isn’t afraid to push the ball downfield. Shows he can work through his progression processing information quickly and making smart decisions with the football. Has led San Marin to a 6-1 record so far this season while throwing for 1,350 yards and 19 touchdowns while posting a 119.5 QBR. A lot to like and a strong foundational skillset to build on as he develops.
