Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Ingrassia has been one of the more under-recruited kids across the state, and has one of the best arms and mechanics of any signal caller across Northern California. He has been leading the San Marin offense for multiple years, and has put up some big time numbers in the process throwing for over 5,000 yards and 75 touchdowns through the air, and adding another 11 rushing TD’s. In his Senior campaign, he helped lead San Marin to another NCS title game appearance, and threw for 3,000 yards and 40 TD’s, and has proved that he is a no brainer division 1 caliber quarterback that has been severely under recruited. Ingrassia boasts good mechanics, elite pocket presence and touch on the deep ball, while able to keep his eyes downfield and throw into tight windows while showing a quick release and the ability to make off platform throws look easy. He is a high IQ kid that scans the field quickly, and can throw his receivers open downfield while able to buy time with his legs and is not afraid to take what is given. He is seemingly comfortable throwing the short, intermediate and deep ball, and has a very strong arm downfield and throws a tight spiral with elite placement and touch over the top. Holding one offer from Utah Tech, it would not be surprising if a school comes in late and gets one of the better steals of the class across the region.

Ingrassia has continued to impress since being named QB MVP of the Norcal Prep Redzone Showcase last spring. He’s a gifted natural passer with excellent pocket presence and mechanics. Smooth footwork in his drop landing with a well-balanced platform and good ball placement. For a first year starter he shows good instincts and anticipation to throw a receiver open and hit on timing routes at all three levels. Does a good job placing the ball to allow his receivers to run after the catch and isn’t afraid to push the ball downfield. Shows he can work through his progression processing information quickly and making smart decisions with the football. Has led San Marin to a 6-1 record so far this season while throwing for 1,350 yards and 19 touchdowns while posting a 119.5 QBR. A lot to like and a strong foundational skillset to build on as he develops.
