He sets well and got stronger as the day went on. His feet are quick and he’s fluid in his movements.
Lee got beat a few times early but recovered nicely and finished the day strong.
Highlights
Wnetrzak has shed some bad weight and looked to be quicker with his feet than he was this time last year.
His initial punch is one of the strongest in the class and when he uses his wingspan to get his hands on the defender, he is tough to beat.
In some reps, he opened up his hips too much with his first step, but when his footwork was right, he was winning every rep.
Highlights
Leaupepetele was an MVP at the Under Armour Camp and was performing very well until a blister on his foot caused him to miss the end of the day Sunday.
He has a wide base as an interior offensive lineman and moves his feet quickly. He always has his hips square and is hard for the defender to gain ground on.
Leaupepetele replaces his hands quickly. He easily could have won MVP if he was able to finish the day.
Tavui is an athletic guy for his size and had some of the fastest feet of the day.
I didn’t get to see a lot of his one-on-one reps, but he won the ones I did see him take. He has good body control and knows how to use his strength to leverage defenders.
Wagner is lengthy and when he gets his hands on defenders, he does a good job keeping them there.
His set was nice and when he did get beat initially, he recovered quickly. Wagner reacts quickly to what the defender is doing and has the hand skills to adjust when he misses on the initial punch.
Perez stood out because of his size and solid footwork. Whenever defenders tried to go inside on him, he did a good job using his feet to cut them off rather than trying to just rely on strength.
