Spring football is about to begin in Oklahoma and that means it’s a wrap for the 7v7 travel circuit. We went to tournaments throughout the spring and saw some fantastic talent from Oklahoma nearly every single weekend. Over the next few days, we’re taking a look back at the best prospects that we had a chance to see in person. And here’s a disclaimer before we begin, a lot of these prospects played for Sooner 7 because we saw plenty of Sooner 7 throughout the 7v7 circuit. But we do have a few other prospects from other travel programs. In this post, it’s part two of looking at some of the best playmakers on offense that we saw throughout the 7v7 season. We have part one listed below.
ICYMI:
Brandon Harper Brandon Harper 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Noble | 2023 State OK – 2023 WR – Noble (C4)
We only got a chance to see C4 in one tournament this offseason but that was more than enough to start buying stock in Noble 2023 wide receiver Brandon Harper Brandon Harper 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Noble | 2023 State OK . The Noble standout had a fantastic junior season and was one of the more underrated wide receivers across the state. But he won’t be underrated going into the 2022 season because his stock continues to rise after a strong offseason while playing with C4’s 7v7 squad. Harper is a very reliable wide receiver who can turn a short pass into a touchdown in the blink of an eye. He has a unique blend of speed, quickness and strength that makes him incredibly tough to bring down in the open field. And Harper knows how to get open so he can get into the open field and showcase those strengths. We’re high on Harper and Noble this season in 5A.
Cam Dooley Cam Dooley 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK – 2023 WR – Lincoln Christian (Sooner 7)
Lincoln Christian 2023 wide receiver Cam Dooley Cam Dooley 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK was a prospect that we first saw this time last year when he was playing with Sooner 7 and he was still at Coweta. Dooley joined Lincoln Christian and was an instant impact player for the Bulldogs last season and should be their top receiver going into this fall. Dooley is a consistent wide receiver that catches almost everything that gets thrown his way. Dooley also has good size and does a good job of locating the ball and making a play on it, no matter what the defense is doing to slow him down. Similar to several other Sooner 7 receivers, Dooley runs very crisp routes and because of that, he knows how to get open and when to expect the ball. He has a high in-game IQ and we think he’s a 2023 prospect that should be on more radars moving forward.
Keegan Bass Keegan Bass 5'9" | 175 lbs | WR Mustang | 2023 State OK – 2023 WR – Mustang (Sooner 7)
Mustang 2023 wide receiver Keegan Bass Keegan Bass 5'9" | 175 lbs | WR Mustang | 2023 State OK joined Sooner 7 in mid-March and man he became an impact player immediately for the squad. In his first tournament, Bass was instantly one of the biggest stars on the offensive side of the ball. Bass is a wide receiver prospect that is definitely underrated across the state but we’re buying stock now. His recruitment has started to pick up over the last few months and we think that’s only going to continue throughout spring ball and into the summer. Bass is a dynamic pass catcher that is at his best after the catch. He was able to showcase his moves during a 7v7 setting but the biggest test will be when the pads come on. Bass had his junior season cut short to injury but he’s back to 100 percent now and will be a big name to watch this fall.
Luke Hasz Luke Hasz 6'4" | TE Bixby | 2023 State OK – 2023 TE – Bixby (Sooner 7)
After being absolutely dominant on the 7v7 circuit last season, Bixby 2023 TE and top overall prospect Luke Hasz Luke Hasz 6'4" | TE Bixby | 2023 State OK was limited this offseason. He only played in two tournaments that we were at and only played on the first day of the tourney. However, in the Battle tournament down in Dallas specifically, Hasz was a one-man wrecking crew, showing why he’s currently ranked as the top prospect in the state’s 2023 class. Hasz is a 1 on 1 nightmare going against undersized linebackers and defensive backs. He made big catch after big catch and also showed his ability to go over the middle and catch the ball and run with aggression. We’re looking forward to seeing what he does when the pads go on and you have to actually find a way to bring this big man to the ground. The Arkansas commit is one of the best in Oklahoma.
