Spring football is about to begin in Oklahoma and that means it’s a wrap for the 7v7 travel circuit. We went to tournaments throughout the spring and saw some fantastic talent from Oklahoma nearly every single weekend. Over the next few days, we’re taking a look back at the best prospects that we had a chance to see in person. And here’s a disclaimer before we begin, a lot of these prospects played for Sooner 7 because we saw plenty of Sooner 7 throughout the 7v7 circuit. But we do have a few other prospects from other travel programs. In this post, it’s part one of two, looking at some of the best playmakers on offense that we saw throughout the 7v7 season. Some of these guys play defense as well but they were at their best on offense.
ICYMI:
Boston Carrasco Boston Carrasco 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Union | 2025 State OK – 2025 RB/DB – Jenks (CA Kings/Sooner 7)
Go ahead and buy stock now on Jenks 2025 standout Boston Carrasco Boston Carrasco 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Union | 2025 State OK . He doubled up as a running back and a defensive back for a few different 7v7 programs this offseason. And whenever we checked out Carrasco in person, we became more convinced that he is the type of athlete that will absolutely thrive for Jenks. He can do a variety of things very well and the Trojans will utilize his athletic abilities to get the absolute most out of him. On offense, he reminds us of some of the recent standout wide receivers that have had success within the program in the last decade. On defense, he’s a confident cornerback that looks forward to man to man situations. Carrasco is definitely a name that could be primed for a breakout season this fall as Jenks looks to go after a third consecutive state championship.
Braylen Irvin-Fisher Braylen Irvin-Fisher 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Union | 2023 State OK – 2023 TE/LB – Union (Sooner 7)
I’ve written about and covered 2023 standout Braylen Irvin-Fisher Braylen Irvin-Fisher 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Union | 2023 State OK for over two years now and it’s great to see his recruitment finally take off as more colleges start seeing the prospect that Fisher is. For Union, Fisher is a standout linebacker and he showcased his defensive abilities throughout the offseason as well. But like we’ve said many times before, Fisher is an unbelievably reliable pass catcher on offense and that aspect of his game shouldn’t be overlooked. Fisher is a versatile athlete who could excel on the offensive side of the ball. Fisher recently started picking up offers from a few local schools and that momentum should only continue as spring practices begin and his senior season coming up this fall. We’ve promoted Fisher over the last few years and there’s an easy reason why when you watch what he does on the field.
JuJu Smith JuJu Smith 5'8" | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK – 2025 RB/DB – Choctaw (Sooner 7)
One of the top 2025 athletes that enjoyed a breakout season last year was Choctaw running back JuJu Smith JuJu Smith 5'8" | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK . Otherwise known as “JuJu”, Smith saw plenty of playing time last year as a freshman and then he continued that momentum into the offseason with Sooner 7. Playing with Sooner 7’s 15U squad, which was one of the best teams we saw this offseason, Smith was outstanding on both sides of the ball. After a breakout season as a running back, Smith went to the other side of the ball and had an outstanding showing as a safety. Smith turned into an absolute ball hawk and was one of the vocal leaders on the defensive side of the ball. We love the energy that Smith plays with and it seemed like he never got tired. His stock went up this spring and that should only continue moving forward.
Noah Roberts Noah Roberts 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Stillwater | 2023 State OK – 2023 RB/LB – Stillwater (Sooner 7)
Similar to JuJu Smith JuJu Smith 5'8" | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK at Choctaw, Stillwater 2023 standout Noah Roberts Noah Roberts 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Stillwater | 2023 State OK enjoyed a breakout season last year for the Pioneers. He had the tall task of replacing star Qwontrel Walker but he did just fine within the Pioneer offense. And then this offseason, Roberts continued to raise his stock by playing more running back and then he even spent some time on defense at linebacker. We weren’t expecting to see Roberts on the defensive side of the ball but he did really well and did a great job covering opposing big men and reading the quarterback’s eyes. Roberts definitely showcased that versatility that earned his way onto this list. While we still see him as a running back prospect moving forward, we can’t overlook what he was able to bring to the table as a linebacker.
Teyton Chandler Teyton Chandler 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Victory Christian | 2024 State OK – 2024 TE/LB – Victory Christian (Sooner 7)
Like the majority of prospects on this list, Victory Christian 2024 standout Teyton Chandler Teyton Chandler 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Victory Christian | 2024 State OK was strong on both sides of the ball but he did have a side where he was just better. For Chandler, it was the defensive side where he just looks like a linebacker. Chandler moves incredibly well for his size and was very disruptive on that side of the ball. We can’t wait to see what he does this fall when they put the pads on and he’s also stopping the run. On offense, Chandler wasn’t used as much compared to defense but when he got his opportunities, he took advantage of them. We have him listed above as a TE but he would be considered a hybrid full back type player on the offensive side of the ball. Chandler brings a lot of versatility to the field and he’s going to be a 2024 prospect to watch this fall in the Tulsa area.
