Zion was a terror on the defensive line in this game for the East Team, as he had 6 tackles and a sack, and several plays where his speed off the edge disrupted plays for the West Team. Zion has been picking up some well-deserved recruiting attention with an offer from Bluefield University and several other college game visits. With 93 tackles and 20 sacks this past season, it’s obvious that Zion can make an impact on the next level. A smart school will see his elite burst and motor, and leverage that and get a steal for sure.

On the first play from scrimmage, Zion made his presence known, defeating a block from the offensive tackle and almost forcing a sack/fumble – the play was ruled as an incomplete pass, but looking at it live it was a very close call. Zion did a good job of showing his run-stopping ability in this game otherwise – the Huskies did more damage in the air than on the ground in this game, and Zion’s efforts in keeping outside contain and shedding blocks, especially in short yardage situations, kept the Mavericks in the game as long as possible.

The hybrid defensive end/linebacker did a good job in eliminating the outside run game for the Titans, consistently setting the edge allowing for his defensive teammates to rally and make tackles for little to no gain on multiple occasions. Zion was able to get a good pass rush off the edge in a two-point stance as well.

Burden is as physical a linebacker as you’ll find, not only when it comes to wrapping up ball carriers, but also when he has to take on blockers. He has no problem making the unselfish play by taking on blockers or making the unspectacular assignment plays. When he does get a chance to hit people though, he brings the boom. With a bit more experience in coverage, he’ll be a complete linebacker.
