It isn’t often that a lineman is included in this type of article, but I love the scenario that Zach is finding himself in this season. Franklin graduated multiple DL this past school year, leaving the door open for Zach to increase his snap count. The DL is already coming off solid numbers for a sophomore DL including 21 tackles, 4 TFLs, and a sack.
Watching the tape from 2025 has me excited for what Zach could do as an upperclassman. He was already flashing the power to rip through double teams and bull rush IOL into the backfield. The ’28 IDL is advanced in his hand usage and constantly is able to create separation so he can shed and pursue the football. It is exciting to think about the potential leap that the big man show off this season. He is sure to earn plenty of attention this fall.

This will be an interesting athlete to follow. Franklin is always producing a deep roster, and the defense never seems to lack that top end talent at all three levels. So the opportunities may be hard to come by, at least early on for the 2028 DL

. However, if he does find the field I’m intrigued to see the impact he could have. Zachary has a massive frame that is required to be a consistent impact on the interior at 6’3″ 295 lbs. As a freshman, Zachary has tape showing a solid get off. Especially for his size, the 2028 is able to get out and have power on contact with the OL. Zach also has shown he can create pressure by collapsing the interior of the pocket. He is definitely a name to keep a closer eye on as the season goes on.

I’m really liking what I see from the Franklin lineman early on in his career. On tape his 6’2″ 280 lbs frame towers over the JV/C Team competition and that size advantage also comes with an overwhelming strength advantage that he uses to consistently create a positive push in the trenches. Zachary isn’t just a big frame, though. He further sets himself apart from the crowd with impressive feet. The freshman is quick out of his stance, can get himself in position to wall off opponents, and does ag great job of churning those legs in the run game to create that big push. I’m very excited to see what the freshman develops into.

(listed above), at 6-foot-1 and 170-pounds he comes with good size for a Wide Receiver on this level. Equally agile and explosive. Plays Defensive End/Edge/Outside Linebacker on the other side of the ball and brings the requisite physicality.
