He had a strong sophomore year, finishing with 58 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks. Cleary is a physical defensive tackle that is very impressive against the run. He explodes out of his stance and has shown the ability to drive his blocker straight into the backfield to create disruption. Once he gets into the backfield, he does a great job of shedding the block quickly to get to the ball carrier to make the tackle. Cleary is also a reliable pass rusher, using his speed to shoot his gap quickly before the opposing offensive lineman can react. Once he gets to the quarterback, he finishes with a ton of physicality, making sure his presence is felt with every hit. While Xsavier doesn’t currently hold any offers, I expect some to come his way soon as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

Cleary was dominant all day, taking home the defensive line MVP award. During 1v1 drills, Cleary put on quite a show. He was very explosive out of his stance and was able to use his strength to drive opposing offensive linemen straight back into the pocket. Cleary also showed a nice variety of pass rush moves to quickly defeat blocks. Xsavier doesn’t currently hold any offers but is definitely a player to watch coming into his junior year as he has the talent to play at the college level.

Although Paducah Tilghman was eliminated in the quarterfinals, Cleary still found a way to leave a mark. He finished the playoffs with 18 total tackles, two tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. As a pass rusher, Cleary explodes off the ball and has a very strong bull rush, driving the opposing offensive lineman back into the pocket. Once he gets penetration, he does a great job of shedding the blocker and finishing at the quarterback. Against the run, Cleary does a good job of stacking blocks and shedding them quickly once he finds the ball. He has shown the ability to run from sideline to sideline to make tackles in the open field. While Cleary doesn’t have any official offers yet, he will definitely be a name to watch in the recruiting circuit over the next two seasons.

Once he gets to the quarterback, he keeps his feet running through contact and finishes with a ton of physicality. Against the run, he does a great job of shedding blocks and getting to the ball carrier quickly. Once he gets to the ball, Cleary has proven to be a reliable open field tackler. Xsavier finished his sophomore regular season with 40 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, and four sacks. Cleary doesn’t hold any offers yet but I expect him to be a name to watch over the next couple seasons.
