On top of excellent defensive awareness, what stands out about James is his ability to read the pass and quickly jump in front of receivers to haul in the pass and take it all the way to the house for the pick-six. I also like how James can blast his way past the offensive line to make crucial stops.

is a player who recently caught my attention at our Stock Up Showcase camp in Kentucky and also put together some solid freshman year film. James lines up at outside linebacker where he is impressive against the run. He has great lateral movement, showing the ability to change direction quickly then use his speed to run sideline to sideline to make tackles in the open field. James finished his freshman year with 23 tackles and one tackle for loss in nine games. He also showed the ability to make plays in coverage, coming away with one interception and returning it for a touchdown. Isaac will be a player to watch as he continues to develop over the next three seasons.

Isaac James was the final linebacker who was named to the top three at Sunday’s camp. He impressed during the 1v1 competition, showing the ability to open up and mirror routes with ease, staying in his man’s hip pocket the whole way. James also stood out during the open field competition, showing the ability to keep a good angle on the ball carrier and not fall for moves in the open field. Isaac should be a player to continue to watch as he continues to develop over the next few years.

In addition to being able to operate as a running back, James makes a commanding statement on defense, proving to be a challenge to contain with his size and durability. I like how James can read the offense like a book and pick up speed off the snap to shut down the running game in the pocket.
