Providence likes to use Johnson as a big slot receiver, especially in four-wide sets, so it isn’t surprising that he’s done most of his damage over the middle. He displays good hands and the ability to outrun people after the catch. Those two skills allow him to work both underneath and over the top of coverage. He wasn’t asked to do much as a route-runner last season, but he was still extremely effective as a freshman.
