Tyree the Tasmanian Devil stands out on tape. He’s selfishly my absolute favorite recruit to watch. Tyree is a tough two-way player for North Allegheny. He brings brings NFL DNA to the field, thanks to his dad Tyson, who rocked the DL in the NFL. Now, why do I absolutely adore Alualu? First off, those NFL genes didn’t skip a beat with Tyree. His defensive game mirrors the rough and violent style that made his pops, Tyson, a force with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ty glides laterally, chasing down ball carriers, showcasing that killer athletic prowess. And when he blitzes, it’s not just about hurrying the QB; it’s a reckless abandonment that keeps offenses on their toes. Check out his sheer strength, forcefully separating RBs from the ball in bone-crushing hits. Ty’s not just a player; he’s a playmaker, causing turnovers and wreaking havoc with open-field tackles. Alualu has FBS offers from Oregon, Cincinnati, San Diego State, Toledo, James Madison and Miami, Oh to name a couple of the programs.

My colleague and trusted WPIAL advisor Avery Hawkins clamored and vouched for Tyree Alualu Tyree Alualu 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB North Allegheny | 2024 State PA to elevate on our ranks. I certainly obliged. I had no problem doing so, as recruitment and size were the only things holding me back from placing him where his tape suggests he belongs. There’s no denying the instincts and flash this young man plays with, so seeing recruitment heat up in his favor only solidified the move into the top 75. I would love to see how he continues to grow in terms of stature. His height/weight combination will be watched under a microscope.

You can see that NFL pedigree shining through in Tyree’s defensive approach, much like his father Tyson who made a name for himself as a former DL for the Pittsburgh Steelers. When Tyree is in pursuit of ball carriers, his lateral movement is truly impressive, allowing him to track them down with precision. His blitzes are relentless, putting intense pressure on the QB time and time again. Tyree has exceptional strength and he’s not afraid to use it. When he makes a tackle, he delivers physicality that can dislodge the ball from RBs, causing turnovers and changing the game’s momentum. Tyree is a true game-changer, wreaking havoc on the field with his open-field tackles. Tyree, the Tasmanian Devil, was recently named LB MVP at ESPN’s Elite Hawaii Camp. He has FBS offers from Oregon, San Diego State, Coastal Carolina, Kent State, and Liberty, to name a couple.

This might be one of the more egregious mistakes. I welcome mistakes like this one, as Tyree Alualu Tyree Alualu 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB North Allegheny | 2024 State PA stands as arguably one of the best linebackers the state has to offer. That’s a far cry from 16th overall. Again, I like Alualu’s game, the top 200 ranking proves that. Yet I had no idea Power Five programs would find his tape to be a hit. I fell victim to the measurable threshold constraints placed on numerous athletes across the country. I figured Alualu to be too small for programs above the FCS level. I was wrong. 14 Division One offers did more than prove that. James Madison, Bowling Green, Temple, and Coastal Carolina all pulled the trigger on this kid. More impressive, Oregon was the first to open the floodgates back in January. Great grades to boot. I’ll be sure to correct his ranking to better fit the recruiting heat he’s seen come his way.

Checking in on Tyree Alualu Tyree Alualu 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB North Allegheny | 2024 State PA and seeing much of the same quality linebacking reps that landed him high on our ranks last Fall. Alualu is going to impress you with his flash, speed, and attitude. He’s carved out a leadership role in the middle of this stout North Allegheny defense, he’s thrived in it. The junior linebacker plays with his head on fire, yet is controlled as far as gap integrity goes. An awesome tackler, form and mean, the energy he provides here is invaluable to the defense. He’s developing into a future college DB, so long as he continues on this path while continuing to develop his frame accordingly this off-season. Fun tape to turn on every time.
