Few players in the championship game delivered on both sides of the ball the way Gray did. His versatility and relentlessness made him one of the true difference makers of the night. Offensively, Gray was able to score with a dramatic 57-yard touchdown run on 4th and 1, displaying exceptional vision, balance and acceleration. He consistently picked up tough yardage between the tackles, kept drives alive and provided the physical running presence Wellington needed to control the tempo. His production forced the defense to stay honest and created opportunities for the offense to stay unpredictable. Defensively, Gray was even more impactful. His burst off the edge gave Wellington a disruptive force that his opponent struggled to handle. His most impressive play came in the second quarter, when he exploded into the backfield on an end-around and snatched the ball directly out of the runner’s hands at the mesh point, an eye catching play few athletes can execute. Gray finished with 9 tackles and 4 tackles for loss, dominating with strength, instincts and superb timing. He embodied championship effort from start to finish.

Gray knocked it out of the park with his performance for Wellington. The 6’4 235-pound went 6/9 for 66 yards, 18 carries for 103 yards with 4 touchdowns, and 4 total tackles. Very good athletic ability due to elite balance, very good change of direction, speed, and acceleration. Very quick release with very good throw power. He didn’t get to show off his arm this much this game, it was more of his legs. Very good runner. Uses his very good vision to find routes through the defense. Gray consistently gets yards after contact in multiple ways. Uses his powerful legs to churn forward and drag defenders, bounce off defenders, or truck right through them. Very good inside and outside running. He turns. broken plays into positive yardage. On defense, he has relentless pursuit. Gray won’t stop till the ball carrier is in his grasps. Great job by the senior.

Gray is a fantastic runner. He has very good strength, dragging defenders with ease. He consistently breaks tackles, and trucks through defenders. On the defensive side of the ball, he continues to shine. As a pass rusher, he has very good bend around the edge with very good bull rush. Very good block shedding and get off speed. He has a relentless pursuit and doesn’t stop till the play is finished. His strength is evident on tape, he threw the QB around like a rag doll. Gray also shows his very good mental processing by putting up his arms for pass deflections at the LOS. He’s a stud, and I’m ecstatic to see more from him in his senior season.

Gray is a competitor that brings it on both sides of the ball but today we are focusing on the defensive side where he is a standout guy on the edge. With his size and quickness he is able to use his speed to get into the backfield and cause chaos. He is a good open field tackler and is able to bring the ball carrier down quickly. When his number is called he is able to use his hands to beat blocks and put pressure on the QB causing a hurry or bringing him down. He will be a player that you will need to know moving forward.

Gray is a player that got some time as a freshman and was able to show how explosive he can be with his legs. He was the second leading rusher on his team and was able to punch it in 6 times as well. He is a big physical runner who can make defenders miss and is hard to bring down at times. He was also able to show some sparks in the passing game being able to connect for 6 touchdowns through the air. He excels at short to intermediate passes, getting the ball out quickly. He will have to limit his turnovers but is a duel-threat QB to keep an eye on moving forward.

Gray is an impressive athlete with legitimate potential to play at the next level. He is a two-way player who can line up as a defensive end or outside linebacker. His size makes him an instant standout, while the strength and power that his 6-foot-4, 225lbs frame keeps him under the spotlight when on the field. He is a powerful runner whose size gives him the ability to barrel through defenders and continue to gain yards after contact. As a passer, he does a good job of throwing second-level passes on time and on target, which he can also do well while on the run. Gray’s growth as a quarterback will be interesting to watch, but there is no doubt that he will become a sought-after prospect for the next level.
