Scott measures in at 5’10 146-pounds playing RB/DB for Wellington. He also runs track and field. Last season, he had 9 carries for 201 yards with 4 touchdowns, 11 total tackles (8 solo, 3 assisted), 1 INT, with 2 FR. Scott displays good athletic ability due to very good speed, good acceleration, change of direction, and jumping. Good vision paired with very good inside running. Scott follows the OL’s pads in short yardage situations, getting the touchdown or conversion. As a DB, he’ll use his physicality to jam receivers at the LOS. Good closing quickness and zone coverage. With an expanded role in the offense, look for him to make the most of his opportunities.
Scott did a great job at the combine. He was 14th for the 40 yard dash, 12th broad jump, 21st L-drill, and 34th in the pro-shuttle. He has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and jumping. The L-drill and pro shuttle were great examples of his balance and agility. During the tennis ball ladder drill, he demonstrated very fluid footwork and very good ball tracking skills. During the 7 on 7 portion, he had a good jam at the LOS. His quick feet matched the wideouts. Fluid hips to match as they broke into their route. Good man coverage and zone coverage. Good read and reaction. Good job by the young defensive back.
Scott was a safety that was able to get depth, read through his keys and read the QBs eyes to make breaks on the football. He showed some good hands being able to come down with a few picks. On offense he was able to run crisp routes at times and find the endzone on a couple of occasions. He will be a name to know in the upcoming years.
