is starting to see his hard work pay off. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound quarterback picked up his first offer from Gannon University. Scalf is a highly-productive and proven dual-threat quarterback with a quick release, has a solid arm and can make plays with his legs. If he gets past the second level, he can be a home-run threat and runs his feet through contact effectively. Scalf had 5,638 total yards last season and 49 total touchdowns, finishing second in the country for total yards.

Scalf did a lot for the Raptors’ offense. He was under heavy pressure but made plays downfield as often as he could. He had to use his legs to buy time and could create offense with his legs. For what was in front of him, he did well. He broke the D2 state championship record for passing yards in a game (376).

flashes a strong arm and great deep-ball touch. The quarterback for Anderson is very accurate, recently earned player of the Week honors in Week 9 for putting up 461 all-purpose yards, putting him on our board.

Scalf did a great job operating the Raptor offense. He was always on time and did a great job making his way through his progressions and finding the right read. Owen finished the evening 33 of 42 for 342 yards. He also had. A 22 yard touchdown on a QB keeper. He showed ability to throw to all three levels of the field. He was able to put the ball on his receivers in a position where they were able to make plays after the catch. For a quarterback in his first year of starting varsity at the moment, never looked too fast or too big for him. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can put on film in the playoffs.

Being the starting quarterback for Anderson and Coach Dreyer is no small task. Anderson’s explosive offense will shift from Justice Burnham to Scalf, but much of the offensive scheme should stay relatively similar. Owen is a great runner. Whether he does it in the designed run game or from scrambling, Owen creates explosive plays with his legs. He does create passing with his legs at times, and does a great job at finding his man open and hitting him on target while on the move. He gets through his progressions well. Many people in the Cincinnati area know the name Scalf when it comes to Anderson quarterbacks, but it’ll be Owen’s time to shine in 2025.
