His ball skills stand out. Monroe tracks the football well, plays through the hands, and rips the ball free even after receivers secure it. He consistently finds ways to disrupt the catch point.

Movement-wise, he’s smooth. His transitions in and out of breaks are clean. Where he really excels is in zone coverage. With his eyes on the quarterback, he diagnoses quickly and closes on throws.

He’s also not afraid to support the run. That makes him a strong nickel option, especially against shifty receivers. With the way he finished the season, Monroe is poised to take a jump. He has all the tools to become one of New Jersey’s breakout defensive backs next year.
