- 6’3, 230 pounds, up ten pounds since the last time we updated his weight. 3.7 GPA. Self-labels as a DT/DE, registered 7 TFLs this past Fall.
- Top 100 player among 2027 PA prospects prior to his film restudy. Recent film has Hammond showing coaches his awareness and athletic ability, reading an inside screen play call, catching the pass and going 20+ yards himself for a pick-six score. Hammond isn’t going to get recruited for his coverage skills, of course, but this is a fantastic view of his IQ and overall athletic prowess. Hammond replicates his first rep with yet another pick-six off a screen read, you don’t see that everyday. If he wants to play IDL or as a 3-tech at the next level, he’ll obviously have to bulk up this off-season and into the next, yet I’m excited about his ability to win inside against great IOL in the Inter-Ac at his current weight. Can shed with his hands when timed up with lateral movements. Can take on several OL and RBs alike and still produce TFLs and disruptions. In on several pass break-ups, again an extremely aware player. Division One grade provided. Coaches will explore what his true future position is. I predict DE in a three-man front, in a specific scheme.
