Catoggio is a player that live evaluations have really helped me round out my evaluation of – his measurables don’t jump off the screen but outside of the #1 player in NY

– I don’t thing there is a more fundamentally sound blocker in this class. Catoggio plays with a strong base, good leverage, and is very consistent with his hands. There was a good 8-play sequence when I saw Chaminade play this year where my eyes were only on Catoggio and every rep you saw the same movements and execution.

Catoggio becomes the second offensive line prospect from New York to commit to Holy Cross, and the Crusaders are getting not only one of the most experienced offensive linemen in the State but also a prospect who has competed against the best defensive line competition on Varsity for multiple seasons and put out back-to-back years of really strong film.
Catoggio has the measurables of an IOL and has a lean body type. Still, he has shown through his game tape in the fall and several camp performances, both stuff I have seen live and through what he has posted on Twitter, that he has a solid base and is consistent in his ability to anchor. Below, Catoggio has some clips from the 2023 Downstate Classic against some FBS and FCS level D-Line prospects from New York, and you can see how well he uses his hands in conjunction with his lower body in pass protection.
At the next level Catoggio still will have to continue to add some weight and strength as do most lineman overall, and with his quickness and ability to snap out of his stance I think there is some potential for him to play both guard and center for Holy Cross in the future.

Catoggio continued a strong summer and received an offer from Lehigh, where he camped earlier this summer. Catoggio comes into the season with multiple D1 offers and one of the more sought-after available 2025 linemen in the CHSFL.

Heading into his third year as a starter for Chaminade, Catoggio has established himself as one of the state’s best. He’s currently a top 10 prospect on Long Island for the class of 2025. He received his first two division one offers this summer from Holy Cross and Marist. Catoggio has excellent size and footwork. His technique is right up there with some of the top lineman in the state. He has the ability to play anywhere on the line, but he’ll be playing left tackle this year and will be a leader for the Flyers offense.

Catoggio, who was at their camp earlier in the summer, picked up his first offer from Holy Cross and an offer from Marist shortly after that. About four prepredzone scouts have seen Catoggio at various camps; many have written about his skillset on the site. I have seen him several times, and it was only a matter of time before he picked up his first FCS opportunity.

from Chaminade. The big lineman is headed into year number 3 as a starter on the Flyers offensive line. And Catoggio has been a reliable player, to say the least, he will be the anchor up front for a Flyers offense with the capability to make noise this season. Catoggio is a very powerful offensive lineman with quick feet, look out for him to be one of the top players in the NYCHSFL AAA division this season.

The junior lineman created a daunting duo alongside Nick Rinaldi. Catoggio had a successful second year on varsity and performed very well in a league that features some of the best defensive lineman in the state. He moves very well in space and created some huge lanes for the Flyers run attack. Catoggio’s feet, brute strength and great hands easily makes him one of the top lineman in the ‘25 class here in New York. Expect him to anchor the Flyers offensive line next season.

It was a must win game for Chaminade as they took on their rival Kellenberg, and the Flyers won handily. And the main reason why, had to be the lineman controlling this entire game. The physicality of Lucas Catogio and this lineman unit overwhelmed the Firebirds. On a goal line run, Cattogio moved his man out of the way then chucked him to the ground for a highlight reel block. But the consistency is what impressed me when looking into Catogio’s game. He pretty much pushed back the defensive lineman he faced on most run play. The Flyers were playing smash mouth football and Catogio showed his physical dominance in this one. His athleticism has always been solid but now we’re seeing how he can demolish opposing lineman and open up huge holes.

I can’t remember the last time Chaminade pulled up a sophomore lineman, it has to be at least 20 years and that says a lot about Catoggio and what he brings to the table. Last year he went against elite senior defensive lineman week in and week out and he did very well. And this past summer he strung together a bunch of successful showcases and I’m a believer that we will see a huge junior season from the athletic guard.

is one of the best guards in the 2025 class and he consistently goes up against some of the strongest competition. Catoggio moves well and has really good strength inside. Catoggio can move guys out of the way in the run game and does a good job of getting to the second level. Catoggio is also one of the better pulling lead blockers in New York regardless of class.
