is having the start to his senior season that we expected and predicted for him after splitting time last season as a junior. The Timberwolves have opened off the offense this season and McGuire is benefitting from a more spread system than in years past at the historically heavy run program. He has the weapons around him to spread the ball around, and McGuire has done a nice job utilizing his cast of talented receivers during the first three weeks of the season.
He’s operating and leading the offense at a high level which has seen Spring Valley average 46 points per game in the first three games. McGuire has proven he can stretch the field vertically and from sideline to sideline with the arm talent and strength to spray the ball all over the field from various platforms and arm angles.

If you’re a fan of offense you would’ve loved to have been at the Hurricane vs. Spring Valley game on Friday night which saw a combined 111 points. 2025 Spring Valley QB

did his part in the Timberwolves’ 63-48 defeat with an explosive night throwing the ball. He completed 20/33 passes for 340 yards and 4 touchdowns and is off to a great start to his senior year which we expected. While defense was optional in this matchup, McGuire made some high-level throws on film and did a nice job spreading the Hurricane defense out and utilizing his talented cast of receivers.

in a full-time starting role in 2024 with anticipation of a breakout senior season for the Timberwolves. McGuire split time last season with a graduated senior but showed flashes of high potential as a passer. He has a big arm that can stretch the field vertically with the weapons around him to have one of the better passing attacks in Class AAA which Spring Valley isn’t typically known for. McGuire has the arm strength to make all of the throws and can put high velocity on his passes.
Look for the Timberwolves to spread the ball around this season through the air and for McGuire to earn more D2 opportunities with a good senior year.

was a recent Watch List prospect that we spotlighted and now enters the rankings as the #6 quarterback in the 2025 class. McGuire has a great opportunity to make a big jump in the final rankings after next season as he’ll likely be the Timberwolves’ full-time starter in 2024 after splitting time last season with a graduating senior. He flashed some serious arm talent in the time he saw last season showcasing a big arm that can stretch the field vertically. McGuire should be able to showcase his running ability more next season when he becomes their go-to guy in a system that likes to utilize the legs of their quarterbacks. It would not surprise me if he’s one of our biggest stock risers after his senior season with a full season under his belt as QB1 and could see himself explode not only on the field but also for his recruiting interest and in the rankings.

was a pleasant surprise when he posted his junior highlight tape after our last 2025 Rankings update. The 6’1 190 righty split time this season with a senior but should be their go-to guy in 2024 for his senior year. The very first clip in his junior highlights grabs your attention quickly with an effortless bomb from the 44-yard line to the back of the end zone hitting his receiver in stride. His arm strength is very apparent throughout his highlight tape and downfield shots were common. McGuire flashed running ability as well this season rushing for just under 300 yards and three touchdowns while splitting reps. His mechanics looked fluid for someone seeing their first varsity action, and he has a great foundation of tools to build on heading into next season. McGuire may just find himself in the Top 10 of our 2025 QB rankings the next time they are updated and is someone who could see a lot of college attention as a senior.
