Kam Guy was fun to talk to as he shared why he committed to play college football for Elon; I think a great fit for both the player and the school. Kam will be playing more on both sides of the ball this year, and I remember him coming up as a younger prospect as a receiver, and he’s got some real ability with the ball in his hands.

Guy has some positional versatility, but he’s at his best where he’s currently used most: as a deep safety who can read and react. He has the ideal length and the ball skills (five interceptions) to make a huge impact. He was used some in off-man coverage against speedier receivers, and that’s an area of his game I think he’ll continue to improve. Given his athletic profile and technique, I think he’d be a nickel candidate at the next level. His versatility should make him an excellent fit on a fast-flowing Elon defense.

Myers Park had a lot of talent in the secondary this past season, but quietly, Kameron jumped onto the radar as a defensive playmaker from his safety position. With his experience as a wide receiver, Kameron’s ball skills are impressive as he challenges receivers at the catch point while in coverage. His highlights show several pass breakups and a couple of interceptions reflective of this ability. College football programs are starting to take notice as well, as Kameron picked up his first two offers from Charlotte and North Carolina A&T, respectively. With 5 interceptions on the season, Kameron will be a player to watch for sure next season.

Kam Guy is a real-deal prospect at the next level. Now over 6 feet and pushing close to 180 pounds, he has the size colleges look for in the secondary — and the production to match. He finished with 33 tackles and 5 interceptions, showing true ball-hawk instincts and the ability to flip momentum in a game. What stands out most is his range and confidence in coverage; he trusts his eyes, breaks on the football, and finishes plays. With his frame continuing to develop and his playmaking ability already evident, Guy is trending toward being one of the more intriguing defensive back prospects in his class.

Kameron has excelled throughout the 7 on 7 circuit and he carried over those performances into this showcase setting. Kameron excels in winning jump balls in the air, and he showed that trait in this showcase well. There is opportunity for Kameron to break into the Mustangs’ rotation at receiver, and it will be exciting to see if he can get on the field on the Varsity level this year and make some plays.
