Kade Elam Kade Elam 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Corbin | 2025 State KY is another quarterback who stood out to me in the state quarterfinals. He led Corbin to a dominant victory over Ashland Blazer, completing 9/12 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Kade has a great feel for pressure, showing the ability to escape the pocket when necessary while keeping his eyes down the field to make tough throws on the run. He has also shown the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. Kade was also dominant in the run game this past week, running the ball 11 times for 81 yards and four touchdowns. Elam is committed to play baseball at Louisville but is still an exciting quarterback to keep an eye on throughout the remainder of the playoffs.

Fans would be hard pressed to find a returning quarterback in Kentucky who enjoyed a more productive and successful sophomore campaign than Elam. In addition to completing 158 of 219 passes for nearly 2,500 yards and 33 touchdowns for his 14-1, state runner-up Redhounds, he did so while throwing only 3 interceptions for the entire campaign. And while his passing ability does comprise the most prominent part of his game, he also proves to be more than just a little dangerous when running the football, finishing last season with 520 yards and 14 touchdowns rushing on only 79 carries. Certainly, his 72% completion percentage speaks to his arm’s accuracy, but what makes him particularly difficult to defend is his ability to place the football while on the move. And given his speed and elusiveness when he does opt to pull the ball down and run, most defensive coordinators find themselves facing “lose-lose” situations when trying to determine how to play him.

Corbin quarterback Kade Elam Kade Elam 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Corbin | 2025 State KY is an underclassman in the state of Kentucky that truly impressed me this season. Elam continued to show growth in the playoffs, leading Corbin to the 4A State Championship Game. Although his team fell short to a very talented Boyle County team, Elam still found a way to impress during the playoffs, completing 43/63 passes for 760 yards, 12 touchdowns, and no interceptions. In the deep passing game, Elam showed off a very strong arm with the ability to lead his receivers down the field and hit them in stride. He also showed very good ball placement, putting the ball where only his receivers could catch it. Elam has also shown a solid quick release, flipping his hips and getting the ball out quickly to hit his receivers out of their breaks in the short passing game. Kade also showed the ability to tuck the ball and make plays on the ground during the playoffs, carrying the ball 32 times for 192 yards and four touchdowns. Elam is currently committed to play baseball at Louisville but does hold a football offer from Eastern Kentucky and has the potential to turn into a highly sought after quarterback prospect if he were to have a sudden change of heart.
