Expert Analysis
Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
The first time I saw Jonah on film he was a freshman getting some varsity reps at a different school, but he was holding his own, and that got him on our radars initially at Prep RedZone North Carolina. Ever since then, Jonah has continued to grow his game both physically and skill wise. I am really excited to see what he puts together this season for a Jordan program who is a state title contender with the number of talented players on that team this upcoming season. Jonah looks like the full package – he’s always been a player who can move around the pocket and make off-schedule plays with his athletic ability and good arm strength. He’s a player to watch that may pop on to recruiting lists for college football programs with a strong start to the season.

El-Amin has been on the radar since taking snaps in relief as a freshman, but I got my first in-person look at the rising junior this offseason. He was a top performer at our Prep Redzone Exposure Camp earlier this month. I don’t think I quite realized how athletic he is. He moved nearly as well as any quarterback in attendance. I think he could have a huge season in his first year as a full-time starter.

El-Amin split time as a starter at Enloe two seasons ago, then transferred to Jordan, where he waited patiently behind a top senior. Now it’s his turn, and the rising junior has a chance to be the best passer in the area. He’s most comfortable as a pocket passer, but in limited action last season, he showed he has the athleticism to move the chains with his legs.

The only rising sophomore on this list, El-Amin made All-Conference as a freshman despite playing only half the season. He’s a guy who puts the ball in a spot that not only allows his receivers to catch it, but where they can turn upfield to gain extra yardage. His arm talent is impressive, especially for his age.

An all-conference selection as a freshman, El-Amin burst onto the scene in the fall with an impressive season. He does an excellent job of spreading the ball around to his playmakers, putting the ball in a spot that maximizes yards after the catch. El-Amin’s arm talent is excellent, and his upside is impressive. As he continues to develop, he’s a guy to watch as a potential riser in the rankings.
