is a difference maker as an edge defender and as a tight end. At both positions, he can make plays to help LaSalle College. As an edge defender, he is impossible to block. He gets into the offensive backfield and is extremely aggressive. His ability to make plays against opposing offenses is excellent. He is also a weapon in the passing game as a tight end. Oates will need to be at his best to win this game.

is an outstanding athlete who could develop into a tight end or a wide receiver in college. He is that good of an athlete. So, this past weekend, he committed to the Temple. I love this fit because he is a local kid staying home, and he has the skills to be a good player at the next level. A perfect fit.

is a freak athlete. He played as a tight end but has legit wide receiver skills as well. He is ranked as the 57th best player in Pennsylvania, which is right where he should be. He is a talented player and is appropriately ranked.

looks better than ever after watching him live against Malvern Prep. Build is beginning to fill out. Holds an offer out of Howard University, yet I don’t expect that to be his lone offer for much longer.

are going to get theirs, along with other names. That being said JP Oates was on the receiving end of a couple of big plays. Oates is proving he can be a serious third option on money downs if O’Brien and McFadden aren’t available. These situations are hard to come by, yet Oates is proving he’s ready to be counted on. This bodes well for his future, both through a production and recruiting lens. This likely won’t be Oates best game on tape, yet I feel comfortable plugging his name even further.

Firmly believe JP Oates is one of the best athletes in what’s becoming a loaded class of 2026 in Pennsylvania. JP Oates, who recently ranked as the third-best wideout prospect among his classmates, gets his name on a collegiate board via Coach Nick Gould at Howard University. A snowball is likely to occur in Oates’s favor. Despite my constant clamoring for attention his way, I feel as though many aren’t catching wind of his game. Likely to play TE this coming Fall, especially with his frame growing the way it has as of late. He’s a capable defender too, yet he’s likely to serve as a pass-catching option second to senior and Syracuse commit

. An O’Brien-like jump in recruiting isn’t out of the question.

A candidate to break-out of the Red Division, one that I’ve been pretty high on since seeing him work in person. I’m completely out of the loop in terms of where we might see JPO deployed, yet I have a feeling this sophomore will play a pivotal role on both sides of the field.

has come into his own in terms of build, the kid looks beyond his years in shorts and a t-shirt. Before we tout his name, we want to see the promise blossom into production on tape. OLB/DE might be an option, same goes for WR/TE. The team is pretty young in the front-seven, so maybe working him into a LB role would benefit. That being said, a trio of McFadden, Dolan, and Oates could stack up well against PCL Red secondaries, especially if Sidwar is the one throwing the football. We ranked JPO as a top 50 sophomore prospect, high praise for a kid that’s yet to prove anything. I have an eye for these things, however. Make sure you get this kid’s name on radar sooner rather than later.
