came up big on both sides of the ball in the first round of the AAAA playoffs against Oak Hill. Offensively, he hauled in 85 receiving yards and a touchdown, giving GW a reliable playmaker in the passing game. Defensively, Smith added a key fumble recovery, helping swing momentum and set up scoring opportunities. His all-around effort played an important role in George Washington’s dominant postseason opener.

transferred over to George Washington for his senior season and has helped the Patriots to a 5-0 start at the midway point. He’s a solid role player on both sides of the ball and is an underrated asset to their success so far this year. Smith is playing the best ball of his career as a senior and should see some college opportunities because of it this fall. DB may be his best position at the next level, but Smith can also be a reliable target on offense out of the slot. His quickness and cutting ability give him playmaking potential if he can get more touches on the offensive side of the ball in the second half of the season.

may have one of the biggest breakout seasons on the team as a junior and should be able to showcase more this season. You saw flashes of his ability as a sophomore which earned him Second Team All-MSAC honors with a promising future. Smith is a raw prospect right now with a lot of upside and natural athleticism that will allow him to work himself into a sought-after prospect by his senior year if he puts in the time to get there. He should see more opportunities as a junior this season and produced when he did get the ball as a sophomore.
We’ll learn more about Smith’s game this season with more film and touches on offense but are confident he’ll reach the potential we believe he has in time.

from Capital debuts in the 2026 rankings 37th overall and the #8 WR in the class. Limited receiving production this past season but also doubles as a quality safety as well who should see a receiving increase the next two seasons. Each time he did get the ball offense he was making a big play averaging over 30 yards per catch. Smith has the ideal size for a slot receiver at 5’10 175 with the athletic ability to pair with it to develop into a high-level prospect in time. With the limited receiver sample size right now we’re making an investment in him that he’ll make a big jump in production and in his development over the next two seasons to warrant his high ranking. I expect all of these Capital underclassmen to make a big jump with former head coach Jon Carpenter returning to lead the Cougars once again.
