The jump from his freshman season to now has been noticeable, and De’Sean Isabell De’Sean Isabell 5'10" | 165 lbs | QB George Washington | 2029 State WV is starting to look like a much more complete quarterback for George Washington. The 2029 QB flashed potential at Capital last year, but winning the starting job as a sophomore for one of the top teams in the state speaks to how much his game has developed. Isabell has always had the athleticism and burst to make plays as a runner, but he’s improved as a passer this season with some impressive throws and better overall command of the position. Classmate Jaden Black gets plenty of attention in their running game, but Isabell has been making his own impact with the ball in his hands through the first five weeks and deserves his own praise. I expect Isabell to be a major stock riser when we update the 2029 rankings after the season.

2029 George Washington QB De’Sean Isabell De’Sean Isabell 5'10" | 165 lbs | QB George Washington | 2029 State WV showed plenty of promise during his freshman season after taking over as the starting quarterback midway through the year at Capital before transferring to George Washington. Isabell is a true dual-threat quarterback whose athleticism makes him dangerous whenever a play breaks down. His burst as a runner stands out immediately, allowing him to get north and south quickly once he finds a crease, and he has the elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field. While there is still room for growth as a passer, that is to be expected for a quarterback this early in his career. His ability to stress defenses with his legs already gives him a strong foundation to build from as he continues refining the rest of his game. With three more seasons of development ahead, Isabell has the talent to become one of the more dynamic quarterbacks to watch in the state.

De’Sean Isabell De’Sean Isabell 5'10" | 165 lbs | QB George Washington | 2029 State WV took over as QB1 in the middle of the season for the Capital Cougars and flashed promise in year one as a young quarterback. He’s a dual-threat quarterback who will continue to develop as a passer, but has high upside as a runner. Isabell has a good burst when taking off to run and can get vertical quickly when he finds a running lane. He’s elusive in the open field and will cause defenses to be uncomfortable for the next three years when defending his legs.
