Jeremiah Goodwin Jeremiah Goodwin 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Owensboro | 2023 State KY continued to impress during his senior season, finishing with 57 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, and three forced fumbles. He lined up at outside linebacker and was dominant against both the run and the pass. Goodwin is a very dangerous pass rusher, showing an explosive first step and the speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles. He also has the strength to fight through blocks on his way to the quarterback. Against the run, Goodwin does a great job of reading the play and flowing to the ball to make tackles in the open field. He also has shown the ability to drive his blocker into the backfield to cause disruption. Jeremiah is committed to the University of Indianapolis where I see him developing into a key piece of their defense.

The senior linebacker played a huge role in Owensboro’s deep playoff run, finishing with 30 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, six sacks, and a forced fumble. He played in an outside linebacker role and was a force against the run and the pass. Goodwin proved to be a very dangerous pass rusher off the edge, using his speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles while also showing the strength to fight through blocks on his way to the quarterback. Once he got to the quarterback, he did a great job of exploding through contact to secure the sack. Against the run, he did a great job of using his speed to burst into the backfield to cause disruption before opposing offensive linemen could get their hands on him. Jeremiah is committed to Indianapolis where I see him becoming a key piece of their defense.

He continued to impress on Friday as he was the best player on the field for Owensboro. On defense, Goodwin lined up at outside linebacker and was a huge threat to stop the run and get to the quarterback. He showed a great combination of strength and speed off the edge. Goodwin was able to win off the edge by simply running by the opposing offensive tackle and also going straight through them. He showed the ability to cause disruption and get into the backfield, coming away with a safety and the only points of the game for Owensboro. Goodwin also served as the team’s punter, showing a strong leg and also being used on a couple of fake punt attempts, and he also got some carries out of the backfield on offense. Jeremiah currently holds offers from Morehead State, Southeast Missouri State, and Lindsey Wilson, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see more come his way as he has received a good amount of college interest and has the talent to be a very solid player at the next level.

Goodwin played a key role in Owensboro’s 36-0 win over Fairdale, carrying the ball eight times for 132 yards and two touchdowns. He showed the speed to get to the outside and run away from the defense once he hit the open field. Goodwin also showed great contact balance, showing the ability to keeping running without breaking stride while taking on contact. Jeremiah continued to make an impact on defense as well, finishing the game with seven tackles and one tackle for loss. Goodwin currently holds offers from Morehead State, Southeast Missouri State, and Lindsey Wilson, and I could see more coming his way as he has the talent to be a very good player at the next level.
