He has a great feel for pressure, showing the ability to maneuver in the pocket and escape when necessary while also keeping his eyes down the field to find the open receiver. DaMarcus also has the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. He also ran the ball 53 times for 307 yards and five touchdowns as a junior. Ganaway holds offers from Troy, Kentucky Wesleyan, Midway, and Campbellsville, and I expect more to come his way this upcoming season.

He’s incredibly accurate and is smart with the football, which is evident in his 70.6% completion percentage (second in 5A). Ganaway Jr also finished the season with over 3,000 yards from scrimmage and 41 total touchdowns. A left-handed quarterback, he has an unorthodox throwing motion but a quick release and a strong arm that can float the ball deep and over the head of defenders. He does a great job at stepping up in the pocket and avoiding pressure while keeping his eyes glued downfield. He’s a good athlete, too. He finished the season with 300 rushing yards — accounting for five of his 41 scores on the season.

He led Owensboro to a win over Greenwood, completing 19/23 passes for 353 yards and five touchdowns. DeMarcus showcased impressive accuracy, putting the ball where only his intended receiver had a chance to catch it. He also showed impressive mobility, showing the ability to either escape the pocket to make throws on the run or tuck the ball and pick up yards as a ball carrier. Ganaway carried the ball eight times for 56 yards. DeMarcus is a quarterback who college coaches should have on their radar for the remainder of the playoffs and going into his senior year. Ganaway will be looking to help Owensboro continue their impressive season in a quarterfinal matchup against Fairdale this week.
