is a perfect example of a ballhawk who isn’t afraid of contact or blowing up a play at the line of scrimmage. With 35 solo tackles last season, as well as a forced fumble, he’s proven himself as one of the toughest DBs in the Bluegrass heading into his senior year. He was able to showcase his skills in coverage during Owensboro’s state championship win, padding the stat sheet with an INT, fumble recovery, two PBUs, two TFLs, and nine tackles.

is another member of the Owensboro defense who stood out in their win this past weekend. Roney lined up at safety where he did a great job in coverage. He showed the ability to read route combinations and flow through the secondary to put himself in position to make a play. When the ball was thrown in his direction, he showed impressive reaction ability and ball skills, coming away with one interception while also breaking up two passes. He also showed the ability to fill the lane to provide support against the run, finishing the game with nine tackles and two tackles for loss. Roney also recovered a fumble in the win. Amar’e should be a player who college coaches have on their radar this offseason.
