Khalil Shemwell Khalil Shemwell 5'11" | 170 lbs | ATH Owensboro | 2029 State KY caught my attention with some impressive freshman year film. On defense, he lines up at safety where he is very reliable in coverage. He does a great job of reading route combinations then breaking on the ball with perfect timing to make a play when it is thrown in his direction. Shemwell finished his freshman year with one interception and several pass breakups in 15 games. He also recorded 22 tackles as a freshman and made an impact on offense at receiver, catching 10 passes for 269 yards and four touchdowns. Khalil holds an offer from Kentucky Wesleyan and I can see more coming his way as he continues to develop over the next few years.

Shemwell is a versatile player who contributes on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he shows good hands and speed with the ball in his hands, turning limited touches into production with 10 receptions for 269 yards and 4 TDs. Defensively, he brings good range and can cover sideline to sideline, showing the ability to patrol the backend effectively. He plays with decent vision and doesn’t get greedy, staying within his responsibilities. He added 22 tackles, 2 TFLs, and 1 interception on defense. I like the versatility and efficiency, and he’s a player who can impact the game in multiple ways as his role grows.
