Jeter has established himself as a three-phase contributor in the state’s largest classification. I noticed it watching him in action last season and saw that again on Halloween night when Waukee traveled to Liberty for a 5A first-round playoff matchup. Jeter had logged a team-best 33 receptions heading into Friday’s game. They were good for 304 yards. Twelve of his 21.0 total tackles were solo, and he added half a tackle for loss. Jeter was the team’s most active kick returner as well. While not the biggest guy on the defense, Jeter brings physicality to the field and a willingness to stick his nose into the fray. He’s a technically sound tackler and appears skilled as a receiver, too. Like other seniors on Waukee, Jeter appears to be a little under-recruited right now.

stands out in the slot for the Warriors as a small, but quick wide out. I didn’t catch much of his production on Friday night, but was informed that he had a good game catching the ball.
If that’s the case, Jeter, like Guttierez and Jacobson, should be in line for a breakout season ahead. With Guttierez as the outside threat, Jacobson as a big-bodied safety valve, Jeter to make plays in the open field, and a balanced running attack, Bakker will have plenty of weapons at his disposal. After posting 14 catches for 174 yards and three scores last season as a receiver, paired with six kick returns for 151 yards and a touchdown, Jeter will be a threat to speed past the defense every time he touches the ball.
Contributing in all three phases of the game for a 5A playoff team is a tall task, one that Jeter pulled off last season. He caught 14 balls for 174 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, 15 of his 19.0 tackles were solo. Jeter returned six kicks for 151 yards and a score. His junior highlight video opens with him returning the kick to the house. Jeter combines elusiveness and speed on the play. He thrives when given the rock in space, often operating out of the slot and turning short passes into big gains. Jeter also looks promising as a defensive back that can run with receivers or support the run.
