Let’s begin with the usual suspect and the top-ranked senior on the team, Elijah Beaty Elijah Beaty 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Bonner-Prendie | 2023 State PA . I have seen the growth, both mentally and physically, first-hand. Dating back to last season, where he earned every rep that was given to him as a first-year starter as a junior cornerback, all the way to the present day, where Beaty acts as one of the best corner prospects in all of Philadelphia. We finally got to see a quarterback test Beaty some in recent weeks. There’s an evident fire burning in this kid. I speak highly of the young man’s abilities to cover at corner, yet recently, he’s put a clear emphasis on becoming a real factor in run support. Beaty is shedding off blocks with the intent to bring down BCs. Beaty is blitzing off the edge effectively and timely. Beaty is getting involved in all things special teams and blocking too, all things collegiate coaching staffs love to see on tape. His bread and butter are his coverage skills at corner, that’s where the young man will earn a living, he’s shown that week in and week out, but his efforts in run support aren’t going unnoticed. Beaty also came up with his interception of the year two weeks ago, he’d have more if he was tested more often. Happy to see the week-by-week improvement in this kid’s game.
Answer Saie Answer Saie 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB Monsignor Bonner | 2023 State PA and Jawaad Hanton Jawaad Hanton 5'10" | 250 lbs | DL Bonner-Prendie | 2023 State PA are staple seniors that have been working for victories since I set my eyes on them. Last I saw Saie, he exited the game with an unfortunate shoulder injury that left him frustrated, to say the least. His efforts would have been valued if he played in that Haverford game. Since, the Friar passing game has been a breath of fresh air, with Saie leading the team in receptions with five in two games. Saie could lead a trio of wideouts that could do serious damage if the right quarterback is under center.
Hanton continues to keep his head down and plug holes against damn near every offensive line he matches up against. Hanton has some talent around him, a desirable situation that often leads to reps where he is single-blocked. Tough task to keep this kid from clogging lanes if he’s not double-teamed. I saw this 5’10, 250-pound beast eat up and sustain gaps against behemoth 6’4 and 6’5 linemen. That says enough in my eyes.

The ranked Friars did their part in keeping this game close. Despite the tough loss on the road, a game that was within reach up until the final minutes, Bonner-Prendie can still come away happy with the play of Elijah Beaty Elijah Beaty 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Bonner-Prendie | 2023 State PA and Jawaad Hanton. Both are senior defenders who did all they could to halt both the passing and rushing attack of the Fords.
I can’t say enough of the job Jawaad Hanton and Jaelyn Allen did inside the interior of the defensive line. The Haverford School deploys three offensive linemen that all stand at 6’4 and above. Hanton and Allen are anything but towers inside, yet rep after rep, the duo made nothing easy for the Fords, despite being outweighed as well. Both Hanton and Allen showed off awesome use of leverage, great hand placement, and real lower body strength. Many reps resulted in both prospects at the very least holding their gaps, forcing Ford ball carriers to bounce runs outside.
I was hoping the Haverford offense would provide a little more of a punch through the air to see just how far along Elijah Beaty Elijah Beaty 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Bonner-Prendie | 2023 State PA has come since the offseason. Beaty wasn’t tested. Even when threatened with the pass, Beaty still managed to stay in phase easily with all matchups thrown his way. The young man is exceptionally seasoned in all things corner, so much so that he’s tough to beat if you’re a one-dimensional wideout. If you have speed, he can match it, if you like to get physical, he can match it. What I really like was his efforts to show up on the tackling sheet. The lack of targets his way didn’t have him falling asleep in the secondary, Beaty provided run support either blitzing off the edge, setting the edge if need be, or even an occasional open-field tackle. Hell, even his ability to shed off blocks against some of the giants Haverford has out there is impressive. If he continues on this path, he will have unlocked another wrinkle to his game. Another solid performance by the senior prospect.
