One of the best backs in all of Pennsylvania will head into the Fall season as the lead man in one of the more potent rushing attacks in 4A Football.

, a top ten senior back, started his final season at Bonner with a two-touchdown performance against a reeling Gratz defense. Said performance can be watched above. Frink hardly broke a sweat in this one, the majority of damage he dealt came in the first half of this game, a game that got out of hand fairly quickly. Frink can tear through elite defenses, his Saturday afternoon performance was hardly surprising, yet still an encouraging one. A tune-up for a back that is going to rack up yards this Fall, excited to see him work again this coming weekend.

is a legit running back who can score anytime he touches the ball. His ability to hit the hole, make defenders miss, and make a run to the end zone is special. He also shows excellent patience. On several plays, Bonner-Prendie runs gap schemes where they pull offensive linemen. Frink shows patience by waiting for the hole to open up, and then he explodes through it. He also has excellent moves and does a good job of making defenders miss in space. Frink is a good running back who has excellent skills.

has just two scores on the ground this year but don’t get it twisted. Frink has proven to be a valuable second option for Bonner to deploy on the ground. You can argue that Johnson has been able to stay fresh a bit because of the alleviation of carries Frink provides. Johnson might lead the way in terms of scores and highlight runs, yet Frink has bore the brunt of the dirty work in a way. Back-to-back hundred-yard performances, this coming against Roman Catholic and Father Judge.
Frink doesn’t have a mid-season tape out yet, and he was bottled up against Haverford, the game I attended in person. I decided to take a look at his tape against Roman to learn more about how he’s performing this Fall. I spoke about Johnson providing a DB-like build. Frink provides your standard, thicker build at the position. Frink broke through the Roman defense after breaking two tackles at the second-level, likely a touchdown run had Frink not cramped up. Frink also scored on an outside zone pitch set that had him barrel through DB inside of ten yards. Comfortable reading his key block, comfortable running in a spread look. I feel good about Frink’s potential as the future lead back at Bonner. His play is going to prove pivotal if Bonner wants to continue on the current tear they are on.
