Carrington committed to Florida State in June but decommitted two days before announcing his commitment to Oklahoma.

Crean Lutheran defensive lineman James Carrington James Carrington 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Rebun-Gap | 2026 CA announced his commitment to Florida State on Monday.

Carrington had 33 tackles, 14 for a loss, nine sacks and a forced fumble for Bishop Gorman last season.

He also had offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame and USC among others. Carrington is the first player from California in Florida State’s 2026 recruiting class.
