JJ showed off a slew of explosion as well from watching his 9’4 broad jump as a first look cornerback for me out of Johnston High a suburb out of Des Moines. I also liked watching JJ’s feet change directions later in the session as he showed off a DB prospect that has some smooth elusive mobility with how swiftly he can cutback to the ball when deeper in route. JJ also has really good balance around the edges of the field as he throws out on tape a DB that on short yardage routes is stuck like glue to the wide receiver which illustrates if the QB throws the ball slightly off line, he could make the ball his very easily which you see consistently on tape. Surprisingly, JJ is significantly under the radar although his showing in Brookings and on tape is intriguing for the next-level. He certainly is a hidden gem at defensive back out of the Des Moines suburb.
