is another player on this Jones offense that comes into this season as an absolute veteran. Mendzoa started for the Longhorns as a sophomore, on an offensive line that featured four seniors. Last season, he took that next step as a leader as the lone returning starter on the offensive line. This season, he’s going into another year as a starter and at this point, there really isn’t much that Mendoza hasn’t already seen. When it comes to the state’s 2026 class with interior offensive linemen, we have Mendoza among the best in that group. He’ll once again be paving the way for a Longhorn offense that expects to be explosive in 2025.

Another area to watch this season is the offensive line as the Longhorns have to replace four of the five starters from last year. The lone returning starter is junior

but Mendoza is already considered one of the top guys at his position in the state’s 2026 class. He was a young offensive lineman on a line full of seniors and still found a way to stand out. And when you look at the impact he had last season as a sophomore, it should get you excited for what is possible for him moving forward. Not only will Mendoza be the key to the Jones offensive line, he’ll be able to bring those younger and inexperienced guys along and that should benefit the whole offense.

has an incredibly high ceiling moving forward and watching his sophomore film just made us more excited for what he will be moving forward. On the film, Mendoza started for the Longhorns at left tackle and the very first play on the highlight made us say “woah” out loud. He pulled down the line like a freight train and the poor defender had no chance when he encountered Mendoza. The Jones sophomore is quick out of his stance with quick feet and that allows him to be very successful when pulling. But based on his current size, around 6’2 or 6’3, his game definitely projects to more of an interior offensive lineman at the next level. But playing at the next level is certainly in the cards for him. His hand placement is really good and he has some good clips on his film of him dominating against really good competition. He puts dudes down with a variety of moves and like we said at the beginning of this breakdown, his ceiling is very high.
