The backup to Joey Nahas Joey Nahas Joey Nahas 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Dowling Catholic | 2026 State IA this fall as Dowling made their run to the 5A state championship, La Cava not only has the physical attributes he needs to be a Division I quarterback, but some of the traits that translate to success at that level.

La Cava shows the ability to hit a receiver in stride consistently. Without forcing a pass-catcher to slow down or adjust to a ball, the junior makes for a QB other skill position players love to work with. A mobile QB that can take off and run if he has to, La Cava evades evades pressure well while keeping his eyes downfield. He should be in line for a breakout senior campaign, after he completed 9-of-19 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown in garbage time this fall.
