Dru is a true three-down linebacker. On early downs, he can come downhill with bad intentions and plug holes in the running game well. On passing downs, Dru can drop and cover the middle of the field, along with showing the ability to blitz from depth when given the opportunity. He has some leadership skills also, and has been a big part of why Palisades has become one of the better programs in Charlotte.

Drakeford is stuffing the stat sheet in the first half of 2025, as he leads the team in tackles, is tied for the team lead in sacks, and has an interception, forced fumble, and fumble recovery on the year. He’s athletic enough to play multiple linebacker positions, and he’s excellent at filling running lanes to make stops.

Dru was getting to the ball with some impressive speed and pursuit in this game, and it’s something he’s been doing consistently so far in his senior year. Watching him in this game, Dru is trusting his eyes and not hesitating when windows open in the running game. I don’t have a tackle count for him in this one, but he has to be in the double-digit range for sure. Dru tackles well and looks to be a defensive leader for a strong defensive unit overall.
