is a hard-hitting safety for the Greyhounds whose film really pops. I love how quickly Coellner can come out of a backpedal, break on the ball and use his hands to deflect passes – and deliver heavy hits. Coellner is developing speed and twitch. He already has the instincts, and continues to make big strides in the gym. Keep an eye on him as he keeps landing multiple Power 4 offers.

I have just one previous viewing of Coellner and that was during the team’s loss to Louisville Trinity last season. I’m anxious to see how the 6-foot-0, 190-pound defensive back with elite ball skills and hard-hitting athletic ability has grown and improved over the offseason. He recorded 72 total tackles, four interceptions, three touchdowns and eight pass breakups last year and is looking to build on those numbers in 2026.

Coellner’s most-recent offer is from Kentucky and it’s easy to see why SEC teams have taken notice of his talents. The 5’11.5, 195-pound safety is a hard-hitting prospect who gets downhill in a hurry. Coellner is very instinctive, twitchy and explosive, and will be a key returning starter for Carmel this fall. He recorded 72 tackles, four interceptions, and eight pass breakups last fall. Kentucky, Oregon, Wisconsin and Ole Miss are some of his recent offers.

Coellner is a star safety for Carmel who thrives in coverage. He’s disciplined and reads his keys. He won’t hold and does a good job judging the ball. He’s smart and can see things before they happen, which oftentimes puts him ina position to make a play. He’s currently looking at offers from Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Duke, Michigan State, and others.

is our top defensive back prospect in the Hoosier State for good reason: he is a very ‘complete’ safety with great ball skills in coverage and against the run, he is a thumper. Tough, fast and instinctive, he can get downhill in a hurry and deliver heavy hits. Coellner has multiple Power 4 offers and more are certain to come his way in the near future.

, a starting safety for Carmel High, could be the state’s top prize in the Class of 2028. Coellner has very good closing speed, ball skills and range. He also contributes on special teams as a kick returner, where he displays great vision and top-end speed to be a threat. Currently holds eight Division I offers with more like to come when the NCAA contact period starts next month.

Coellner is a smart DB who does a tremendous job in the backend. This season, he became as reliable as any safety in the state for Carmel and was a key reason their defense performed as well as it did. He’s smart, knows how to read the field, and doesn’t hesitate when he sees something. He has the range to make just about every play and can come up and play the run. I like how aggressive he is with the ball in the air, but he doesn’t get handsy. He’s got good technique in coverage. His 57 tackles, 7 PBUs, and 3 interceptions all have him trending in the right direction. He’s talented, checks the boxes, and is someone I think we’ll see a lot of over the next 2 years.

Coellner has burst onto the scene for Carmel and looks good. He’s got fantastic range and can go sideline to sideline with ease. He’s good in the running game as well and comes up and closes lanes. He’s good in coverage and has had a ton of success in zone this year. His 34 tackles, 2 TFLs, and 2 PBU’s are a good start to his year. I like where he’s at, the progress he’s made with live reps, and think he’s going to continue to get better.
