Whitlow brings elite mobility for the position, especially on pulls and screen actions. He fires off the ball with urgency and looks to engage quickly. His ability to reach the second level stands out.
In pass protection, he shows smooth feet and strong patience. He stays square and uses controlled hand placement to manage rushers. There’s confidence in his movement. Darius Whitlow Darius Whitlow 6'3" | 315 lbs | OL Opelika | 2027 State AL is a dominant OG from Opelika who had a really impressive junior year last fall.
“At 6’3 315, Whitlow moves really well at his size- he’s highly athletic and can make a ton of huge blocks on the move, consistently pulling across the line of scrimmage and working from level to level to open up massive rushing lanes for his RB.
On top of that, Whitlow is dominant in pass protection- he does a great job setting his feet and using his size, leverage, and strength to dominate defensive linemen at the line of scrimmage. Whitlow is constantly pancaking interior linemen, giving his QB plenty of time to decide what to do with the ball. I think what impressed me most was Whitlow’s effort every snap- he’s a physical OL who plays through the whistle every snap.“
Whitlow has had a busy offseason, picking up offers from Troy and South Alabama! With his talent, this is just the beginning. I’m certain more schools will be calling his way soon.
In the meantime, be sure to watch some of his tape below- you won’t want to miss out!

Whitlow will have a huge impact on the game. He does so much in the trenches that allows his team to flourish offensively. I’m excited to watch him this week.

Stout, aggressive, mean-mannered IOL projection. Impressive short area quickness. Can break the game. Explodes through contact and works through whistle. Stands straight up and waddles in space as a mover. Would benefit camping so coaches could get a better feel for his size and length.
This guy is mean. I would be really intrigued at a P4 school and have him marked as a guy who could earn an offer.

Stout, aggressive, mean-mannered IOL projection. Impressive short-area quickness. Can break the game by bullying defenders. Explodes through contact and works through whistle. Developing his pad-level as a mover in space. Will need to confirm size in space. Compensates for size with violence, hustle, and energy. Holds D1 offers.

Darius Whitlow Darius Whitlow 6'3" | 315 lbs | OL Opelika | 2027 State AL is a prototype IOL projection who took a massive step forward this offseason. He added some FBS offers to his name in January and it’s a matter of time before P4 schools get involved. Whitlow is nearly impossible to move and does plenty of people-pushing himself. He packs a jarring punch, stunning and often knocking defenders off-balance at first contact. He is explosive out of his stance and plays with decent pad level, helping him arrive first and create dents on down blocks. He is athletic enough to pull and gets a full head of steam going downhill. He can play in a box with the guy lined up across from him, but he takes his game to another level thanks to his ability to move in space. Whitlow is listed most recently at 6’3. I think he has the tools to compensate for being on the shorter side.

Darius Whitlow Darius Whitlow 6'3" | 315 lbs | OL Opelika | 2027 State AL is a really promising up and coming defensive line prospect out of Opelika that made a lot of splash plays for them last season. Standing at 6’1 275, Whitlow already has a big frame as a freshman and uses every bit of it when he plays. He physically outmatches many of the offensive linemen he lines up against, is extremely powerful, and can penetrate the backfield to make plays very often. Whitlow is especially good against the run, he is able to use his size to close up gaps with ease and is a really good tackler that never allows the opposing back to break off into the open field. Last season, Whitlow showed a lot of potential with how well he was able to play. Keep an eye on him going forward to see how he continues to develop, I think he could be a really good prospect!

Has a strong lower body to hold the point of attack in the run game. Uses his length effectively to lock out opponents, and shows heavy hands to discard blockers. Length and separation should allow him to make tackles while engaged. Able to kick inside and walk back interior linemen with his bull rush, showing impressive functional strength and solid leg drive. Can be a handful as a power rusher, attracting additional linemen and freeing up opportunities for teammates. Shows the ability to fire out with some explosiveness and threaten to skinny through gaps and disrupt plays. Mixes in a few different moves, primarily swim and rip moves.
