About Matthew

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My name is Matthew Pritchett. I am 6' 3", 170 lbs. I am a rising Junior (c/o 2028) attending Opelika High School in Opelika, Alabama. My position is Wide Receiver for Opelika High Schools varsity team. I have a 3.3 GPA (AP). I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and field.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am mentally strong. I believe anything is possible to achieve if you put in the hard work and discipline to achieve it. I am happy when I can help others, and I am compationate to compete.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), I enjoy volunteering in my community.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership skills through hard work and dedication. On time is to be late; being early is to be on time. I keep that mentality for everything that I do.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I was pulled up to varsity football my freshman year in high school. It was mentioned to me how satisfied the coaches were with my performance, speed, agility, and attitude. I worked hard and I performed as expected, but I never received playing time. I continued to be a team player and stayed humble, knowing if I keep performing my time will come.

What type of college are you looking for?

I believe my best fit would be at the DI, DII, or NAIA level, although I will absolutely consider high academic DIII opportunities.

Pritchett possesses the type of frame that next level coaches look for. However his blend of size and skill is what keeps their attention. His length creates an expanded catch radius however his ball skills allow him to convert on this natural advantage. With dependable hands Pritchett consistently snags contested catches and converts on situational downs.
As a route runner, he attacks cushions aggressively and does an excellent job stacking defenders once he gains leverage. His long strides eat up ground quickly and his ability maintain smoothness out of breaks put defensive backs in a bind. With a string of impressive camp performances and tape to validate it – look for Pritchett to be a name ringing bells during the season.
