Some things just don’t change, like Dakota being the #1 receiver. This dude can do it all. Route running, hands, catch radius. He’s a rare talent that can hurt a defense in a variety of ways. Great change of direction and balance allows him to cut on a dime and get separation in a hurry. He also had the get-off and top end speed to get behind the defense on a go route without much trouble, taking the top off of the defense nearly at will. Once he gets the ball in his hands, he has good vision and physicality to maximize every touch. An extremely deserving #1 that will have his pick of pretty much any P-4 program in the country.

Dakota regains the #1 spot on the Prep Redzone Rankings. This is a consensus pick at this point.
Dakota is simply too good to ignore. I’d argue that the primary aspect pushing him to the #1 spot is his elite performance on both sides of the ball. Most of each class’ top players are elite players on one side of the ball, and most of them are good at their secondary position, if they have one. Rarely do we have a talent like Dakota who could realistically be a starting BIG 10 / SEC receiver or defensive back.
Specifically, Dakota’s ball skills and instincts are off the charts. His instincts allow him to get open more often, use his athletic traits to his advantage, and be in a better position defensively.
Dakota would be ranked far lower if he didn’t have great ball skills. His catch radius is one of the best in the class, as are his overall hands. Plus, Dakota sports near-elite balance after the catch.
Number 1 for a reason. I can’t wait to see where Dakota ends up playing his college ball!

Dakota will either be ranked #1 or #2 during the next update.
Unmatched talent since he was a freshman. Athletesism through the roof- could outperform Division 1 committed Seniors when he was a Freshman. Sticky hands, awesome ball tracking, route running, and some of the best body control I’ve ever seen. I don’t typically cover guys like Dakota simply because they don’t need any exposure from me. His talent is obvious, and as long as he puts his nose to the ground and continues to work, Dakota will be an excellent Saturday player.

Dakota remains at #1 in his position, and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be. It’s honestly been a while since I scouted Dakota in person, but with all of his offers, I have zero reason to believe he isn’t worlds better than when I watched him a couple years ago.
Great size, great speed, long arms, and a natural route runner. Freak of nature WR and someone who has NFL upside- he just has to go out and earn it.

Dakota has been getting a ton of hype for a long time, and it’s well deserved. He’s a great route runner with the ability to get open on any route. He’s best used out wide running go routes and getting behind the defense with his elite speed. Dakota has the rare size and ability you just don’t see much from young receivers. He is only continuing to get better and with the coaching and supporting cast at Harper Woods, he’s going to be torturing defenses for years to come at the high school level, and likely at a P4 school eventually.

So far, Harper Woods has rolled over teams in the postseason. During this 3-week span, Dakota has made a ton of plays.
Last week against Lutheran North, Dakota had well over 100 yards and 1TD on offense (wildcat) in addition to an interception on defense. The tape from last week is pretty impressive- he looks like an NFL player going against a D3 college.
This week against Goodrich, Dakota should make even more plays. Goodrich has a way better defense, several great players, and Dakota should have more opportunities to truly show off his skillset.
At receiver and DB, Dakota will likely be lining up in front of another D1 prospect. I’m extremely interested in seeing if Dakota is able to make a few explosive plays against Goodrich.
