About Jayden
Expert Analysis
Tyler Graham | Prep Redzone Scout
Jayden is an elite talent that has already started receiving offers, including the national champion Indiana. Playing at the safety position, he has no issue going sideline to sideline. His speed and athleticism shine through, especially when people try risky throws over the middle. His reaction time is top notch, and he brings the physicality over the middle when a receiver makes a catch. I think another offseason under his belt will allow him to start really unlocking his potential.

Another elite DB from Harper Woods. Is anyone surprised? I know I’m not.
Dudes like Jayden are propelling Harper Woods to the top of Michigan High School Football. He’s proven to be a pretty well-rounded safety for Harper Woods this season. Of course, he’s extremely well-repped in the pass game. He can defend the middle third as good as anyone, and has the athletic ability to cover a ton of ground and break up any lightly thrown pass. Evans has also improved as a run defender. A little more aggressive in his pursuit and a little better at tackling this season. Overall, a smarter football player, and someone who should take another leap this coming offseason.

Jayden is a raw safety prospect but has enough buzz around him to be considered a low Power 4 prospect.
I like Jayden’s tape against the run. He does a good job working downhill and filling the rushing lane. He still needs to learn how to play a step faster and be a little more physical, but this this area of play is definitely a strength of his.
Defending the pass, Jayden is quite inconsistent. Generally, he struggles with positioning but has the athleticism to make up ground extremely quickly. He’s a hard worker in the offseason, so I have no doubt that he’ll make strides with his IQ this Spring/Summer.

– Played on 14U Old Town Ducks at AYF Nationals this year and led team to tournament finals.
– Really tall, long kid that runs with great strides. For the second year, he impressed me at AYF Nationals two years in a row.
– One of three natural Z wide receivers that come with college size already, despite being only in eighth-grade

Jayden Evans is a very athletic wideout to keep an eye on in this stacked 2027 class. With a big-time performance at the AYF All-Star Game, Jayden has shown that he shines even when he is surrounded by some of the best in his class. With his elite talent, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up playing for a powerhouse program on Saturday afternoons down the road. I am very excited to watch him grow and develop throughout his early high school career.
