SEP’s Cooper Chebuhar Cooper Chebuhar 6'3" | 225 lbs | DL Southeast Polk | 2027 State IA already took a big step from his sophomore to junior year, and now looks primed to make a leap going into year four. Chebuhar recorded 22 tackles and 3.5 TFLs during his junior campaign. Cooper is a player I can see moving around the defensive front due to his athleticism and versatility. He’s played both as a stand-up edge rusher and as a defensive end with his hands in the dirt, and he can excel in either role. Despite being on the “lighter” side, Chebuhar does a great job of eating and stacking up blockers while keeping his eyes on the backfield and tracking the ball. Once he’s made his read, Cooper can disengage from blocks and continue his pursuit. Good job sealing the edge to shut down outside runs.

It’s always worth noting when a freshman can work themselves into a varsity role at a powerhouse like Southeast Polk. That’s exactly what Cooper Chebuhar Cooper Chebuhar 6'3" | 225 lbs | DL Southeast Polk | 2027 State IA was able to do towards the end of the regular season. Chebuhar already has next-level size, standing at 6’3″ and 225 pounds, with the strength and explosiveness to blow up blocks. He played defensive end last season but also fits the role of OLB/EDGE rusher very well, using his quick first step to get an early jump on linemen. Watching his film, it seemed like Chebuhar would penetrate the line of scrimmage and was an imposing presence in opposing backfields. I also really liked Cooper’s tireless pursuit of the ball. Look out for Cooper to make a run at a starting spot on varsity next fall!

, a key player in the helping the Rams to a 5A state-championship three-peat in ’23. Caleb is off to Iowa Central, and Cooper will work to carry on the family legacy. He provides evidence that’s likely to happen during his freshman highlights. He’s a wrecker of the offense’s plans. Cooper fires off the edge with excellent burst and straight-line quickness. Strength and proper hand placement help him get off of blocks. Southeast Polk has featured some dominant defenders in recent years, and the young Chebuhar could be next in line.
