Colleges have done well in mining Iowa's 2027 recruiting class. Twelve different guys have verbally committed to Power 4 programs. Quite a few others have pledged to FBS and FCS schools.

Even with those sizable numbers, a lot of talent from the state for the cycle remains in the board. Here's a closer look at a group of them:

[player_tooltip player_id='1361314' first='Owen' last='Woods'], WR, WDM Valley

Announced offers: Simpson.

The Situation: Woods is an attractive combination of current skills and production with a projectable frame and room for football development. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder flashes all of that during his junior highlight video from a Valley season that ended in the state semifinals with a hard-fought loss to rival Dowling Catholic.

Colleges have recognized the ceiling. During last season, he visited Northern Iowa and Concordia St. Paul. Augustana University, Northwestern College, Upper Iowa, Truman State, Simpson, Central, Wartburg and Wisconsin-Platteville played host to him for junior day visits this year.

Illinois State stopped by Valley to visits Woods at the end of April. Simpson extended an offer to him on May 4.

[player_tooltip player_id='1207832' first='Cooper' last='Chebuhar'], DE/LB, Southeast Polk

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: I've been writing it a lot lately, but Chebuhar is a prospect whose talents are deserving of more attention from colleges. His junior highlight video playing for one of the state's top programs at developing prospects for the next level serves as the evidence.

Chebuhar has prepared to prove himself during camp stops at Iowa State (Tuesday), Iowa (June 9) and Northern Iowa (July 12). North Dakota State and South Dakota State played host to him on junior day visits this winter. Iowa State and Northern Iowa visited him at Southeast Polk.

It feels like Chebuhar is a recruit closing in on college opportunities. That could happen from camps or with a strong senior year for the Rams.

[player_tooltip player_id='1649629' first='Asa' last='Jacobsen'], WR/DB, Okoboji

Announced offers: Northwestern College, Bemidji State, Dordt.

The Situation: There's a college out there that will benefit greatly from gaining Jacobsen's commitment. With a 6-foot-2, 195-pound projectable frame, he has an opportunity to deliver heavy contributions with further development.

Next-level programs have courted Jacobsen. Interest has been elevated when getting a look at his junior highlight video.

Northwestern College, Bemidji State and Dordt have extended offers to Jacobsen during junior day visits this offseason. He's also stopped on campuses at Augustana, Southwest Minnesota State University, Wayne State and Morningside. UAB, Northern State University, Southern Nazarene University and others have invited him to camps.

[player_tooltip player_id='1597005' first='Clayton' last='Hogan'], OL/DL, Western Dubuque

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: Hogan is a prospect packed with potential when we watch his junior highlight video. The 6-foot-1, 260-pound lineman performs with power that could work at center or guard on offense or tackle on the defensive front in college.

Northern Iowa has shown interest in developing Hogan. The Panthers played host to him for a visit in September. They visited him at Western Dubuque throughout the winter and spring. He was back on campus in late April.

A multi-sport athlete, Hogan could add more interest from colleges at camps. He also might convince programs with what should be a dominant senior campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='1616449' first='Jareth' last='Navarro'], DL, Linn-Mar

Announced offers: North Dakota, MSU Mankato.

The Situation: He might not be criminally under-recruited, but plenty of college programs should be charged with dropping the ball when it comes to Navarro. He's 6-foot-5, 270 pounds and can move as is evidenced by what we witness when watching his junior highlight video.

Illinois State played host to Navarro for a game-day visit last September. Iowa State and Drake visited with him at Linn-Mar in January. He took in a junior day at South Dakota at the end of March. North Dakota visited him at school on May 5 and offered him his first scholarship two days later. MSU Mankato, Western Michigan, Northern Iowa and Northern Illinois were in Marion last month. Mankato offered on May 21.

Navarro is the type of recruit that could raise his profile during camp season or in his senior campaign. He's a solid Division I prospect.
