Connor’s experience defending against Wing-T offenses showed up in a big way on Saturday. He played out of his mind against Howell, reacting exceptionally fast to every run and filling his lanes incredibly well. Not only was Connor aggressive, but he was also an excellent tackler. I watched Connor wrap up the RB and then proceed to drag him backward, not allowing the RB to earn any extra yards by falling forward.
This is the best game I’ve ever seen from Connor. He played smart, aggressive, and confident. I am extremely interested in seeing how Connor performs against another run-heavy team in Rochester Adams.

#6
Connor’s name kept popping up on tackles, and I’m not at all surprised. In fact, he’s my #1 linebacker of the game.
I recorded a couple of good plays from Connor. During one play, Connor did an excellent job of working diagonally through blockers to the running back (RB only gained ~2 yards).
In general, Connor was very reactive to the run and did a great job of reading the EK offense. I watched linebackers on both teams hit the wrong hole, hesitate, get blocked, etc, but Connor was definitely the least mistake-prone in my eyes.
With slightly better reaction time and explosiveness, Connor would have made a few more plays. Regardless, Connor played well and has surely earned a rankings boost come the next update.

Connor is one of the best off-ball linebackers in the state. Although he isn’t utilized in the most versatile way, he plays his role exceptionally well. Against the inside run, Connor does a good job of reading the play and attacking the ball carrier quickly. Now, I think his game could be improved with better IQ/anticipation, but these aspects are still well above average. He could also have a little better play speed, but that can also be developed in college.
Moving forward, Connor rarely makes big mistakes that bring him out of the play. He almost never over-pursues, and rarely gets blocked for more than a second or two. If a lineman tries to block Connor at the second level, he does a great job of staying square, keeping his eyes in the backfield, and attacking the RB when the time is right. I really like his tape, and I’d love a little more play speed and sideline-to-sideplays moving forward.
