Expert Analysis

I am a huge fan of how Hudsonville uses Wyatt’s skillset. He has the speed and agility to run clean routes and be a threat downfield, but Wyatt also totes the rock a good amount as well. His vision and outright acceleration lets him turn the corner and get out in space, where he becomes a monster to get on the ground. Those same skills allow him to deal significant damage on special teams. Once he’s in the open field, the kid can fly. When I watched him against East Kentwood last season, they had a hard time containing him in man coverage, and they had to switch up what they were doing. If you’re looking for a dude who legitimately changes the math for a defense, look no further.

Wyatt has turned into quite the gadget guy for this Hudsonville offense. They love splitting him out, putting him in motion across the formation and creating confusion and eye candy for the defense. At his best, he takes sweeps and short passes and turns them into explosive plays, getting into the open field and making tacklers look silly. When I watched him against East Kentwood the first time, he was a massive piece of the passing game as well, coming down with a couple of really impressive contested catches. I think in the 2nd iteration of this game, Wyatt will be just as important. While EK will want to key in on some of the other big weapons on this Hudsy offense, Wyatt could be the true difference maker if they don’t account for him and his big-play ability.

Schemed up in a variety of roles. Mostly at receiver, sometimes at RB. All-around an efficent football player. An above-average athlete who does a good job staying balanced through contact. Good top speed and promising vision in the open field. Not the focal point of the Hudsonville offense, but a highly effective player whenever his name is called.

Wyatt debuts in the Rankings at #191 with a ton of potential to rise. He was previously on our Watch List.
I typically hesitate to rank players without a substantial amount of Varsity experience, but Wyatt is an exception.
Speed kills. Vision does, too. Wyatt is a speed-in-space demon with above-average vision and impressive contact balance considering his size. Wyatt is utilized very well out of the backfield, earning touches with outside runs, inside runs, and the screen game. Effective use, good IQ, and sky-high Varsity upside. I absolutely expect Wyatt to be a college prospect, and I’d honestly expect to be ranking him higher come next update.

Another Hudsonville player with some promising traits.
Wyatt has some wheels, and 0:28 proves it. Wyatt’s speed allows him to evade the first-level defenders. Likewise, his speed allows him to absolutely torch the DBs on the way to the endzone. On top of that, plays like 0:45 show good vision.
All in all, Wyatt wins with speed. He’s not too big on fancy open-field moves or power, but he’s got good vision, high-end speed, high-end acceleration, and major Varsity upside. Sky’s the limit, and I am super interested in seeing how Wyatt looks at the Varsity level.
